Will Howard’s Girlfriend Sends Powerful 3-Word Message While His NFL Dream Hangs in Balance

4 min read

Will Howard faced a 360-degree shift in fortune as we proceeded to that iconic championship night from the NFL draft season. On the final night, Howard walked out of the Mercedes-Benz like a crowned prince with two touchdowns and 231 yards and an 81.0 completion percentage. The Buckeyes veteran then announced the massive career move he had long waited for. Sending an emotive goodbye to all his Buckeyes colleagues, coaches, and fans, the prodigy declared himself for the NFL Draft. But ever since, the stock has kept hitting a low for the 23-year-old. But amid all the changes, the one that has been the only constant is his girlfriend, Skyler Skoglund.

During a stupendous college career spanning over 5 years, Howard posted 83 touchdowns and 9,796 yards with a 63.8 completion percentage. He also added 26 touchdowns and 1,147 yards on the ground. But when it translated to the preparatory phase of the NFL stage, it looked like a hollow promise. However, his beau never failed to back him up with strength. Skyler Skoglund knows exactly when it’s time to cheer for her man from the front line and when it’s time to let him unwind and escape from the buzz and race for a while.

Amidst the hectic NFL transition era and the constant scrutiny of draft experts, Skyler took a vacation alongside Howard on the beachside and dropped some serene snaps together. The caption reads: “anywhere with you.” They kept the red-hot sunset amidst the infinity of the sea as the prop of their quality time photos, as a natural effect to enhance the vibe. The Buckeyes QB, in a casual, comfy grey shirt and brown pants, looked outright refreshed. Maybe it will turn out to be a much-needed break that the quarterback needed ahead of a giant leap in his career.

Recently, at the OSU Pro day, Skyler took all the spotlight at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Before this, she was there in the audience during that massive college football final night. Skyler never hesitated to express her love loud for Howard. Right after he lifted the trophy like a hero, Skyler took to his Twitter to share that click alongside a caption – “Ohio’s finest” – with a cup emoji. The couple got a relatively new start in their journey (this year), but they made sure to have each other’s backs like they have known each other for eternity.

Skyler, a Miami University graduate, is currently trying to find her footing in healthcare. She also boasts 5600 followers on her Instagram, and the number might go up as Will Howard continues to be better and NFL-ready ahead of the April draft day. But his destiny still ain’t showing any sign…

Will Howard doesn’t make it to the NFL’s official first-round mock list

Just over a few weeks back, Howard received a coveted Combine invitation, a rare chance to exhibit talent in front of the NFL scouts one-on-one. But did he meet the hype at Indianapolis? Well, the OSU QB mounted a 31.5 vertical jump and a 9’4 broad jump, which was historically considered the worst by many.

And fans were not even surprised. It was as if they knew this was coming. However, Howard dismissed the flak and said he knows where the narrative even started crawling up. “I thought I did pretty well. I think really it was Team Up North fans blowing it out of proportion,” Howard said. “I missed like two throws, obviously, but other guys did too.”

But the map continues to drag him down. The official NFL IG handle relayed a graphic of Chad Reuter’s latest mock draft. It shows eight quarterbacks. For Will Howard, being unable to crack the first 4 rounds is humiliating. The list includes big names like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders going in round 1. It will be interesting to see where the standout QB finally lands for the next chapter of his career, barring all the shades and doubts.
