The Milwaukee Bucks are the new Santa of the league! Distributing points to anyone who is coming their way, and the last 4 games are proof of it. It seems like just yesterday the Bucks were tipped to be outside contenders for the championship. But they’ve had a March sent straight from the depths of hell. A topsy-turvy 31 days has resulted in them losing 9 of their 16 games. But regardless of their form, Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s wrath hasn’t slowed down an inch. So, when is the miracle loading?
He seems to be coming third in a two-horse race for the MVP this season. His blistering and consistent form is probably what’s kept them in playoff contention still. But the Bucks are in real danger of losing 5 in a row. Looking down, the Hawks are 4 games away from their 6th spot. But a win tonight against the Suns will get them within half a game of the 5th-placed Detroit Pistons. So, who does Doc Rivers have in store for their important clash tonight?
Bucks’ injury report ahead of Suns clash
The Suns are probably the biggest disappointment of the season behind Philly. Nothing has gone as per plan to plan for them this season. Reason? Even Kevin Durant won’t be available tonight. Milwaukee knows they won’t get a better opportunity to turn their fortunes around. Giannis is the biggest ace up Doc’s sleeve this season. He’s recorded 30+ points in 4 consecutive games, bringing his season average to 30.2/11.9/5.9 shooting a ridiculous 60.1% from the field.
He’s been a constant presence on the injury report since the All-Star break, though he’s only missed a game since then. The two-time MVP is dealing with a left foot sprain, due to which he’s been listed as day-to-day in their injury report for tonight’s game. But if we’re to go by past trends, the Greek Freak will be making his 62nd appearance of the season tonight.

Unfortunately, he’s not the only one on their report. Center AJ Green is listed as questionable against the Suns tonight due to a right AC joint sprain. He missed the loss to the Hawks on Sunday as well due to the same issue. This injury is probably what’s kept him in his slump. Green has averaged 7.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists this season for the Bucks in his 66 appearances. So will he make his mark on the court today? On wait and watch! But there’s more to worry about the demotivated Milwaukee side.
The only two confirmed absentees are veteran Damian Lillard and Jericho Sims. The outbreak of Dame’s deep vein thrombosis in his right calf took the media by storm. He’s to be out indefinitely, with no return date stamped in yet. Doc Rivers highlights his concern for Lillard when he said, “We’re hopeful that he’s coming back. It’s a blow to us, obviously. It’s more of a blow to Dame. That’s where the emotional support goes.”
As for Jericho Sims, he underwent surgery Monday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and is expected to be sidelined for approximately four weeks. But the Bucks’ press release said that he’s likely to return for the playoffs.
Bucks’ predicted lineup against the Suns
Despite Phoenix’s hard times, Doc isn’t one to underestimate them. Milwaukee lost to them during their last meeting, 108-106. But that was mainly due to Durant’s MOTM-worthy 38/8/5 performance, which won’t be on display tonight. That being said, this is the Bucks’ predicted lineup against the Suns:
Point Guard
Kevin Porter Jr.
Shooting Guard
Gary Trent Jr.
Power Forward
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Small Forward
Kyle Kuzma
Center
Brook Lopez
There are growing concerns about the Bucks losing out for the 5th time in a row. They’ve been as unpredictable as they come in the past month. Even with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s unbelievable form, the rest of the squad will have to step up to get it over the line against the Suns tonight at the Fiserv. But the big question remains: Will they? Stay tuned to know what turns out in a few hours!
