Deaths in College Football are always huge blows to the sport and its spirit. They’re even more devastating when the game loses some extremely young talents, who were looking at a hopeful future. Missouri State announced the passing of one of its promising safeties, Todric McGee. He was only 21.
McGee succumbed to injuries at a hospital earlier today. No further details have been released so far, but the college is asking for privacy and prayers for his family. He leaves behind mother Stephanie Pope, father Amiel McGee, and siblings Chaquil and Tahlia. Tahlia plays basketball at Texas Arlington.

McGee was one of Missouri State’s best players on the roster for the past three seasons. His best was in 2023, pitching in 102 tackles, 59 solo stops, 2 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries. He was also named a second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference player. McGee was looking to play 2025 as a senior, which will unfortunately not take shape anymore. His loss is surely a blow to the Missouri State community, as his family mourns his passing.
