But while fans are well aware of her achievements on the track, many are now curious about the life she leads beyond it, especially her relationship with her husband, Hugo Moon. Meet Hugo Moon: Katie Moon’s Husband

Hugo Moon was born in England and is pretty well-known in the rowing circuit for his numerous victories in that sport. He was a former rowing athlete in college and is now a coach in the same sport. He previously worked as the head coach and director of rowing at Gainesville Area Rowing Inc. He played a paramount role and organized everything for the new athletes in this position.

He also achieved victory as the Head of the Lake and had other notable wins in the ACRA National Championships. Hugo Moon is working as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Tulsa as of now. The bachelor’s degree holder from the University of Birmingham (UK) (degree in philosophy, religion, and ethics in 2015) has a stacked resume as a coach over the years. Moon has a master’s degree in sports management from Washington State University, which he earned in 2019. 

What is Hugo Moon’s Profession?

He was Head Coach and Director at Gainesville Area Rowing (2019–2022), and before that, worked at Washington State University, Warwick University, and Canford School in various coaching roles.

He is a professional rowing coach, presently operating as Assistant Rowing Coach at the University of Tulsa, a position he’s held since 2022. He has coached GAR athletes and helped them achieve several titles and accolades. Moon supervised a team of 25 athletes while serving as the assistant to the men’s head coach at Washington State from 2017 to 2019. He was also the coach for their club team, guiding them to two second-place wins at the ACRA National Championships in 2019, as well as a third and fifth-place finish in 2018.

He also worked as a graduate assistant at Canford School (2016-17) and the head coach for women’s rowing at Warwick University (2015-16). Now that we know all about his career and incredible resume, let’s see how he met Katie Moon.

How Did Katie Moon And Hugo Moon Meet?

Interestingly, the couple had met through a dating app back in 2018. The duo first met in 2018 through Tinder while living in Pullman, Washington, where Hugo was coaching at Washington State University. They started as friends and later on began dating. Finally, her husband decided to propose to her in 2021. The couple tied the knot in 2022, is known to have a very fun-loving relationship.

“We have a very joking relationship, he put my most unflattering face, big and bold, on his T-shirt,” Katie told journalists, per NBC. “So, if you see that in Paris … you didn’t,” she quipped. Katie shares a lot about her love life on Instagram and even wished her husband during their first marriage anniversary.  “Happy anniversary, Mr. Moon! Thank you for being the best part of this, and every year,” the pole vaulter wrote on their first wedding anniversary.

Do Katie Moon and Hugo Moon Have Kids?

As of now, they do not have any children together. The couple got married on New Year’s Eve of 2022. Right now, they are both dominating in their professions, with Katie concentrating on the world athletic championships this year.

They’ve also bought a home together and are nearing their third wedding anniversary. With Katie still at the top of her game, fans are eager to see what the next chapter of her career holds.
