Grant Fisher is a popular name among the track and field enthusiasts. After all, he became the first American man in more than a decade who won a medal in the 10,000-meter race in Paris Olympic 2024. Previously, Galen Rupp secured silver at the 10,000-metre event in London Olympics 2012. He finished just 0.02 seconds behind Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregawi to earn a bronze medal in the longest race of Olympics. Its noteworthy that Grant Fisher received constant support throughout his journey from his biggest cheerleader, his girlfriend.
While Fisher has been an exceptional sprinter, he too had to face a setback. In 2023, he snagged a Worlds spot at USATF Championship but landed fourth. After an MRI scan, it was determined that Fisher had a femur injury, forcing him to bail on a 5000-metre race. But instead of letting this halt his journey, Fisher took a new path. He left his elite Bowerman Track Club squad, moved to Park City. He then reunited with his high school coach, Mike Scannell.
Irrespective of the ups and downs in Fisher’s career, his girlfriend, Sarah Walker has been supportive of Fisher’s sprinting journey. On that note, let us take a look at Grant’s girlfriend.
Who is Sarah Walker?
While many might recognise Sarah Walker as Grant’s girlfriend, but one needs to know she is no less a runner than her partner. In fact, the love between the two blossomed due to their common interest in athletics. They are both former students at Stanford, where both were crushing it as student athletes—Grant was a distance runner, and Sarah was juggling her studies and sports with equal grit. She got several accolades for her exceptional performance in the university in the Track and Field. Some include Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in 2020 and 2021m, Pac-12 All-Academic second team in 2019 and MPSF All Academic in 2019. In 2021, outdoors, she made personal bests of 2:03:70 mark in the 800-metre race and 56:05 in the 400-metre race. Even before Stanford, she smashed it at the New Balance Nationals (2nd), won the Stanford Invitational high school race, and even podiumed at the U.S. Juniors. All the accolades and awards showcase that she’s no less than her partner.
Soon after graduating from the prestigious university, Walker worked at the National Ability Center, working to create opportunities for folks with disabilities, and showcasing her passion for inclusion and community services.
But she’s not stopping there: soon, she’s diving into a master’s in human factors engineering at Tufts University, Boston, aiming to blend tech and design to make systems more human-friendly. Thus, it is safe to say she’s all about leveling up lives, both through her career and her brainy ambitions.
However, she loves to keep her life private, only sharing limited information about her life in the public domain.

Grant went to attend Stanford University from 2015-2019, where he met Walker. While, Grant was out there dominating as a distance-running beast, and Sarah was casually killing it in her athletic hustle. Now, even when they are out of college, they still share the same lovable bond. In an interview, Walker said of Fisher, “The Grant you meet now is the same Grant I met in college.”
Sarah Walker is Grant Fisher’s biggest supporter
Sarah has been Grant’s hype squad since before the Olympics; she is his ultimate supporter, both on and off the track. When he was preparing for Paris 2024, she stated unequivocally that she had “never seen him happier,” and yes, she was in the front row (with his team) at the Games, living her most hype-human existence. After the Olympics, these two went to the Euro-trip before Sarah switched her pom-poms for textbooks to pursue a master’s degree in human factors engineering at Tufts in Boston.
Now, Fisher has signed a deal to participate in Grand Slam events in 2025, along with Hiltz and Ronald Kwemoi. The three had also competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
