Jeff became an AV-rated lawyer and is now the managing partner of Caglianone, Miller & Zeifert in Tampa, Florida. He is still quite active in his community outside of work. He was also named an All-American by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and the MLB Network/Sirius XM Two-Way Player of the Year. And his performance in his final year was the cherry on top. He hit .371 with 3 homers and had a 2.44 ERA with 65 strikeouts.
But as usual, his journey, too, wasn’t filled with rose petals. He hurt his UCL and needed Tommy John surgery. And there, as well, his family stood like a strong pillar. After his recovery, he started from where he had left off.
Now, how can we not talk about his time with the Florida Gators? A time that made him known as a tough two-way player. He hit 73 home runs in his career, the second most in program history and the 11th most in NCAA history. And his pitching? Even better! A 12-5 career record and 155 strikeouts.
Not only on the diamond, he was equally good in the classroom. Jac Caglianone was awarded the John Olerud Award and First Team Academic All-American honors for his hard work in school and sports.
His journey into majors started in July 2024, when the Kansas City Royals chose him sixth overall in the MLB Draft. His performance was so impressive that they gave him a $7.21 million signing bonus. And since then, he just looked forward.
His ascent from the minor leagues was rapid and impressive. Taking off with the Quad Cities River Bandits and then moving on to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. He made an impression there by hitting .322/.394/.553 with nine home runs and 43 RBIs in 38 games. Later, he was promoted to the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers, where he batted .319 with six home runs in just 12 games.
