Natisha Hiedeman’s College and Professional Career
Marquette welcomed Hiedeman after she left Green Bay Southwest High School as a leading scorer. She made a splash in her first year at Marquette, as Hiedeman was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team. After starting strong, Hiedeman never faltered as she finished her career as Marquette’s third all-time leading scorer, just 27 shy of the program record. Additionally, she was the first Marquette player to reach 300 made three-pointers and finished sixth on Marquette’s all-time assist chart. The now Lynx standout averaged 14.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 4.8 rebounds, leading to being drafted by the Minnesota Lynx as their 18th overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft.
The jumps started during the draft, when her rights were traded to the Connecticut Sun in exchange for Lexie Brown. Then she was waived by the Sun, but the Dream picked her up as a Euro Basket replacement. However, she couldn’t get an appearance during her limited time window and was released soon after. Sun came around once she was waived and resigned as their draftee, where she eventually made her professional debut. In her first three seasons, she came off the bench for the Sun, averaging 16.3 minutes per game while starting only 9. It was in her third season that she made her mark, averaging 7.6 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds while winning the 6th Player of the Year award.

Hiedeman never looked back since, after a solid stint with the Sun, she moved to Minnesota in 2024, where she had to change in order to fit in. But she was ready for the challenge. “I’m just excited to come here,” she said. “I just want to win. Whatever I need for us to win, that’s my goal. And that’s everyone’s main focus. Right now we’re getting better together.” And win she did, the Lynx blitzed their way to the 2024 WNBA finals but faltered at the final step, losing to the New York Liberty. Hiedeman was key off the bench, playing 15.2 minutes per game while averaging 4.9 points and 2.4 assists. It was a slight drop from her previous years, but she has blended in, considering her improvement this year. She has played 29 games in 2025 while averaging 7.8 points,1.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists on the Lynx’s ‘revenge tour’.
