Maddy Westbeld seems to follow Christianity. Taking her comments and her university, it can be said that she is associated with Catholicism. The importance of her faith is well evident on her social media. Her bio on Instagram features a mention of her favourite religious scripture, Psalm 139.  In an interview with her college paper, she has talked about how important prayer and meditation is for her. Regarding meditation, she said, “I get up and I meditate every morning; it doesn’t have to be long, but what I really just try to do is calm my mind.” 

Maddy Westbeld came out of high school as a 5-star recruit. Meaning, she had no shortage of college offers. However, she chose to commit to Notre Dame, a catholic university. While it is not confirmed publicly, her faith could have played a role in this decision as well. 

Although her and the Chicago Sky’s 2025 WNBA season has not gone as planned, the team still has a lot of potential. With young stars such as Angel Reese, Hayley Van Lith, Maddy Westbeld, and Kamila Cordoso in their ranks, the Chicago Sky have all the pieces to make the playoffs. Now, they just need to figure out how to make all the pieces fit.
