Well, not many might have foreseen this coming. After having won their previous 2 matchups against the Brooklyn Nets this season, the Los Angeles Lakers could have recently increased the number to 3. Instead, the LA squad ended up recording a close 111-108 loss. Some might attribute this to the lack of sufficient players, as 5 of the athletes, including LeBron James, were ‘OUT’ for the recent game. However, JJ Redick wasn’t willing to accept that excuse.
The Lakers’ head coach participated in the presser after the recent loss. During the Q&A session, he was asked if there was a specific aspect that wasn’t happening tonight. Redick’s answer? “I think it was a very low-level communication game. For our team, yeah.” Yeah …
And with regards to the team being shorthanded, the coach sidelined that excuse by adding, “Yeah, I mean, I don’t think being shorthand is an excuse for how we played basketball tonight”. In the end, the only thing JJ Redick was willing to blame was the ‘mentality’ of the players who played in the game.
“No, I think it was just an overall sort of mentality just to take shortcuts tonight. We just wanted to take shortcuts,” said the 40-year-old HC. “They scored 20 points on us gambling. They had 16 offensive rebounds. We’d ball watched all night. We said no dare shots. I can’t, I mean, go through it. They probably made 6-7 uncontested 3s. Just shortcuts. You want to continue to win in the NBA? You got to do the hard stuff”.
This is a developing story.
