During Game 1 of the 2025 Eastern Conference Second Round, Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz took a hit to the head after an accidental elbow from Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett. So, the incident happened right in the middle of the second period and didn’t get any penalties.
Stolarz stayed in the game for a little while, but then he ended up vomiting on the bench and had to be taken to the hospital for a check-up. He got released the next day and showed up at the team’s facility, but they decided to rule him out for Game 2 since he was still on the mend. So, Joseph Woll took over as the starting goaltender while Stolarz was out.
Even though the Maple Leafs are up 2-0 in the series, the news about their goalie isn’t really what people were hoping for. On X, Pierre LeBrun reported: “Leafs coach Craig Berube doesn’t think Anthony Stolarz will travel to Florida. Or at least not right away. No new update on him otherwise today from the coach.”
Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube mentioned that goaltender Anthony Stolarz is on the mend after the head injury he got in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers. Right now, there’s no timeline for when he might be back on the field. So, the coach mentioned that the goalie probably won’t be heading to Florida, and honestly, his chances of coming back for Round 2 don’t look too bright either.
