UFC Vegas 107: Erin Blanchfield vs. Maycee Barber Height, Reach, & Walk Around Weight Comparison

3 min read

On Saturday, May 31, we are heading back to the Apex for another Fight Night with UFC Vegas 107. A female flyweight bout is set to headline the event with Erin Blanchfield going toe-to-toe with Maycee Barber. This is a pivotal fight for both top five flyweights as this headliner will most likely decide who gets the next title shot. Also, it will be Blanchfield and Barber’s first UFC fight of 2025.

Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber’s ascension to the top of the UFC’s women’s flyweight division happened in the wake of both fighters amassing impressive records since making their debuts in the promotion. But how do they fare against each other? That’s what we will discuss as they gear up to butt heads for the first time in their UFC careers. For the criterion of comparison, let’s take a look at Blanchfield and Barber’s physical stats.

Blanchfield vs. Barber height and reach comparison

Physically, both fighters are virtually identical, but Maycee Barber does an advantage in the height department being one inch taller—she stands 5’5″ tall while Erin Blanchfield stands at 5’4″. However, Barber’s height advantage doesn’t translate to her reach because ‘Cold Blooded’ has a one-inch advantage at 66 inches compared to ‘The Future’, whose reach is 65 inches.

But despite the reach difference, Maycee Barber has appeared to make better use of it if we take a look at her previous fights—particularly because of the striking approach to her fighting game. On the other hand, Erin Blanchfield makes use of her reach to effectively manage distance and also control the pace of the fight while standing up. Hence, it’s difficult to say who has the upper hand.

Now that we’ve established the height details, it’s time to move on to the next physical aspect of these two contenders. We are, of course, talking about the weight difference, so let’s dive into it.

Who weighs more, Erin Blanchfield or Maycee Barber?

Come the night of the weigh-ins, both Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber will be weighing in at 125 or 126 lbs for their fight to take place. Dana White doesn’t like catchweight fights, after all. However, things change when the fighters step inside the Octagon during Fight Night. The rehydration process often brings them closer to their walk-around weight, and that really plays a vital role during fights.

When it comes to Maycee Barber, she’s likely to walk around 135-140 lbs, and after rehydration following the weigh-ins, she’s likely to weigh around that mark during the fight. The situation could be the same for Erin Blanchfield, who’s also likely to walk around the 135-145 mark. There is no concrete evidence about these numbers, but the estimations are based on the flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko’s comments, who once claimed to have walked around the aforementioned weight mark.

Well, height and weight can only give fighters a certain level of advantage, but in a fight, they need more than just their physical attributes to get the victory. It will be interesting to see if it’ll be Maycee Barber or Erin Blanchfield who gets one step closer to a title shot. Who do you have winning at UFC Vegas 107? Drop your comments below.
