UFC Fans Freak Out as Tatiana Suarez’s Injury Might Just Be ‘As Bad as the Beatin Weili’ Gave Her

4 min read

With determination in her eyes, Tatiana Suarez stepped into the Qudos Bank Arena, ready to seize the strawweight title from Zhang Weili at UFC 312. As the undefeated frontrunner to dethrone the reigning champion, Suarez believed her elite wrestling would be the key to victory against the Chinese powerhouse. But reality had other plans. ‘Magnum’ delivered a dominant performance, dismantling Suarez and successfully defending her belt, handing the Covina, California native the first loss of her career.

In the world of mixed martial arts, injuries are an unavoidable part of the journey. UFC fighters push their bodies to the absolute limit, training through grueling camps and stepping into the Octagon to go to war. This is what happened to Suarez during the fight with Weili. Along with significant damage to her face, Suarez sustained a nasty cut on her right leg during the fight, the result of an early grappling exchange against the cage. While the injury didn’t play a massive role in the fight, fans seemed very worried about the fighter.

Just three days after suffering the first loss of her professional career, she took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the aftermath—showcasing her stitched-up wound. The image serves as a brutal reminder of the toll the fight took on her body, though viewers should be warned—it’s not for the faint of heart. Verdict MMA has now shared the image on their Instagram account to share a glimpse of the injury she sustained. By the first look, it seems to be a heavy cut that might have hindered her movement.

However, Suarez did a fantastic job of continuing the fight for the full five rounds. But the fans didn’t quite seem to enjoy the update given by the fighter. Just like most occasions, some appreciated the fighter while others found ways to mock her. Let us take a look at what the fans had to say about the gruesome injury.

Fans aren’t impressed with stitches done on Tatiana Suarez’s injury

In her social media update, Tatiana Suarez expressed gratitude for the support she received and reassured fans that she’s taking the necessary steps toward recovery. While the full extent of her injury remains unclear, Suarez has never been one to back down from adversity. If history is any indication, this is just a temporary roadblock on her path to redemption. However, she is currently facing a backlash for the latest photo she has uploaded on her Instagram.

One fan wasn’t quite impressed by the work done by the doctor and commented, “Was that stitched by a child”  Although the fight went the distance, one user feels the clash could have been stopped in the fourth round and commented, “Fight had to be stopped in the 4th bad reffing”

Another user also pointed out the negligence shown by the doctor and commented, “They messed those stitches up bad. Looks like a child’s work” Tatiana Suarez has been one of the most dominant wrestlers in the division. However, one user didn’t quite agree with it and commented, “Cool wrestling bro maybe switch gyms” One more user pointed out how the injury could have been treated in a better way and commented, “Bro that could have stitched that a lot better. Rookie doc”

Despite fighting it out inside the Octagon, Suarez wasn’t able to win the hearts of her fans. One user reminded her how the champion made easy work of the challenger and commented, “Stitches are horrible, almost as bad as the beatin weili face u”  One user reminded everyone about how bad the injury was and commented “yeeeeep thats a lifelong scar”

Despite these setbacks, the warrior mentality in MMA is unmatched. Many fighters choose to push through pain, unwilling to back down from a fight. However, this comes at a cost, as rushing recovery often leads to further damage. Can Tatiana Suarez recover from her injury this time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
