UFC Evades Fans’ Fury for Putting Jack Della Maddalena Under Huge Disadvantage Against Belal Muhammad at UFC 315

4 min read

Would you trust it when the UFC gives out your opponent’s ‘fight plan’ right before your bout? No, right? Well, a similar thing seems to have happened before the bout between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena, when UFC 315 Embedded: Vlog Series revealed the welterweight title contender’s drills on YouTube. Was this a major slip-up or just routine practice drills that the glorified striker uses in training? Either way, instead of lashing back at the UFC, the fans took a different approach.

A fan page by the name of ElonovMMA on X shared a screenshot from the first episode of UFC 315 Embedded: Vlog Series. The screenshot revealed the drills that Della Maddalena’s team put up on a whiteboard for him to follow. The drills included three jab combinations and two counter combinations. On top of that, there were five more ground game drills that Della Maddalena had to practice. JDM had to practice cage hooks, half guards, body locks, and sprawls. Needless to say, he wasn’t going to leave any stone unturned.

However, the fan page seemed to believe that it was the Australian welterweight contender’s game plan against ‘Remember The Name’. The caption read, “Why did the UFC leak JDM’s fight plan on Embedded…” Of course, claiming that the drills were actually a fight plan didn’t have a good effect on the fighting community.

Soon after the tweet went viral, fight fans took to the comments section and revealed their thoughts on it. Let’s take a look at what the MMA realm had to say about UFC ‘leaking’ JDM’s plans.

Fans don’t buy UFC leaking Jack Della Maddalena’s game plan against Belal Muhammad

Most of the fans didn’t agree with the assumption. They claimed that it wasn’t really an accurate fight plan for the #5 welterweight contender. Instead, it was released just to stir things up and create hype around the heavily criticized main event. One of the fans wrote, “Why did the UFC leak JDM’s fight plan? Simple: they’re trying to stir the pot!  It’s all about the drama, baby! Look, the more you know about the plan, the more you can game it. But let’s be real, fighters like JDM thrive on unpredictability.” Another fan added, “Cmon mate it’s clearly to stir the pot it ain’t legit.”

Meanwhile, some of the fans added a bit of fun to the comments section, pretending to be part of Della Maddalena’s team. And the claims remained the same – They intentionally wanted Muhammad’s team to see the plans. One of the fans wrote, “It is part of our plan, Belals team will see this and fall for it before we change the game plan last second…” Another fan commented, “We did it intentionally we will sleep belel.” However, there were a few fans who knew that executing the plan against someone like the WW champion was pretty tough. Take preparing a plan against Khabib Nurmagomedov, for example. Everyone knew that ‘The Eagle’ would dominate in his wrestling. Yet, no one was able to counter him. A fan wrote, “i mean the blueprint for beating belal is relatively simple, it’s just a matter of actually being able to execute it.”

On the other hand, some of the fans believed that Della Maddalena’s team probably planned to get Muhammad to focus on the drills. And in the meantime, JDM would train to bring the Palestinian champion down. Some fans even connected it with Muhammad promising not to use his wrestling in the bout. One fan wrote, “they wrote that down to try and get them. like how belal said he’s not gonna take down not once, he prolly is tho. Trust.” Another fan dismissed the case, claiming, “Doesn’t matter, he’s gonna get held againts the cage for 25 minutes.”

What are your thoughts on the ‘fight plan’ leaks? Do you think getting to know about his opponent’s drills will put Muhammad at an advantage? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
