Tyler Warren’s NFL Destination All But Confirmed as $6.4B Team Predicted to Target Penn State TE After Jets’ Quietly Move On

4 min read

In a Penn State offense that showed its gaps as the season progressed, it was Tyler Warren who held the fort down. The TE stepped in for the struggling wide receiver room and was a key figure that took the Nittany Lions to the semi-finals. Had Warren underperformed or missed out because of some injury, imagine the Penn State offense in that case! Warren was their savior, a go-to guy for Drew Allar on third downs, a player who made big plays when it mattered the most! Without him, forget semis; the Nittany Lions wouldn’t have made the playoffs.

Tyler Warren hauled in 104 carries for 1,223 yards and also scored 8 TDs along the way. He caught more passes than all of the WRs combined in the season. His strengths and reliance factor make him a sleeper target for many teams in the draft. Just yesterday, Warren made a huge leap and was the overall pick no. 5, going to the Jacksonville Jaguars in CBS Sports‘ latest mock draft. Another team that can make more use of him is the Colts, who are in dire need of one TE.

However, there’s a chance he can also be headed someplace else. Football broadcaster and media veteran Rich Eisen made the case for Tyler Warren going at No. 10 to the Chicago Bears. There, Eisen proposes that Warren will make for a killer addition to what looks like a promising O-line already. “[They] will add him to the mix on offense. And Ben Johnson’s going to have two tight ends in Cole Kmet and Tyler Warren. And they’re going to have this entire offense with Caleb Williams, all set with young studs for a long time to come.”

Cole Kmet displayed some serious brilliance with Justin Fields, followed by Williams. If Warren goes to Chicago, he’ll be part of a trio that packs some serious damage. The Bears’ staff has been interested in Warren for quite some time. HC Ben Johnson reportedly said the TE was a “complete football player.” Also, OC Dennis Allen spoke about Warren being poised to “give defenses a headache,” reported Sports Illustrated. The combination with Kmet and Williams is one that the majority of analysts are saying has some serious, serious potential.

Warren is a top-priority prospect, and we can see many teams fighting it out for him. However, one particular team seems to consider giving him the cut in favor of another prospect.

Jets seem to be in a dilemma over Tyler Warren

The New York Jets, with pick No. 7, is another spot that experts are predicting as the landing spot for Warren. However, they are in a conundrum. Despite Warren’s long involvement in Jets rumors, Armand Membou seemed to see him as an option. The Jets have fluctuated between these two options, never reaching a definitive decision. But Jake Asman thinks the Jets will pass on the elite prospect.

It’s the betting favorite right now, [and] I think it’s going to be Armand Membou,” Asman said. However, a lot of it depends on Jaxson Dart’s journey in the draft. If, and only if, Dart is picked at No. 1, it would allow the Jets to trade back from the #7 position. But Dart has announced he’ll be refusing an offer to visit the green room. That means it’s likely that he has suspected that he won’t be going to the Raiders after all.

Will Tyler Warren be able to carry forward his magic at Penn State to his NFL home? Currently a top prospect and often featured in top-ten lists, it’s confusing to see where he’ll end up. Will he be better suited for the Giants? Or for the more promising Bears?
