“I am disappointed for our student-athletes that they will not be given the opportunity to compete this weekend under the same scoring parameters afforded to every other Division I program.” The statement came from Arkansas gymnastics head coach, Jordyn Wieber, after her appeal to the NCAA to allow Arkansas to compete in a regular-season meet at Oregon State to improve their NQS was denied. A better NQS would have led to them being a part of the SEC championship, which they have cut off due to new NQS rules. While they failed to qualify for the SEC, they didn’t make an impact in the NCAA as well. The Razorback gym has announced the comeback of a triple threat for the next season. The team’s official Instagram account posted a picture on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, that may have sent chills down the spines of many NCAA teams. Cropped over a white background were three figures of the last four years of the Razorbacks gymnastics team – Cami Weaver, Frankie Price, and Leah Smith. Written all over the photo were three words in big, bold letters: “One more time.”
The post captioned, “All eyes on Year 5⃣ for this trio of Arkansas All-Americans ,” announced the comeback of this triple threat for a 5th season with the Razorback gymnastics. Earlier that day, they had also posted a reel with the caption, “Bringing back a triple threat next season ,” which was a compilation of various clips where the trio can be seen performing in the meets and dancing in the Razorback leotard. The trio made their debut in the 2022 season, but Frankie and Cami did not play in their freshman season and were therefore eligible to return to swing. Smith’s final year got cut short due to an injury, and so she was available for a 5th-year run as well. The trip has been putting up good performances as well.
In the 2025 season alone, they had their fair share in the team’s performance. Cami posted 9.850+ on vault in seven meets and had five top-three finishes and one event title on vault. Hitting a season high (9.900) on the Vault twice and two 9.800+ on beam, two appearances are also to her name. Frankie registered 10 scores of 9.850+ on the floor, including a three-week streak of 9.900+ from Feb. 28-March 14. She won five event titles on the floor and scored 9.900+ in every home meet. She posted a season-high 9.950 twice and finished with a 9.915 NQS (30th nationally).
Though Smith’s 2025 season was cut short due to her injury, she performed in five meets, and yet she rocked them. She hit 9.850+ three times on the floor this season, highlighted by a 9.925 in the upset over No. 2 LSU. She also posted season highs of 9.875 on vault (3rd place at the Tri Meet) and 9.850 on bars at Oklahoma, the team’s top bars score that meet.
