It was a historical moment for him and the Colorado Buffaloes, as he would be the first defensive player to win the trophy since 1994’s Rashaan Salaam’s Heisman. New York Giants insider Wesley Steinberg posted on X about Hunter’s upcoming visit to the Giants’ camp. It became trending and has garnered a whopping 4 million views for all the wrong reasons. Steinberg wrote, “#Giants will take a visit from Travis Hunter and his entire entourage this week. Hunter’s family, girlfriend, and even his girlfriend’s boyfriend will take a tour of the facility“.
There were all kinds of questions on the internet about the post and what it meant. Earlier in December too, a video went viral on the internet where Leanna was accused by fans of dancing ‘inappropriately’ with a singer. Later reports were revealed, and she even clarified that the video was of a much earlier date when Hunter hadn’t even started dating. But for now, the fans are speculating and bashing Hunter about the visit to the Giants’ camp. The comments seem to focus solely on Hunter’s girlfriend’s boyfriend.
Are the Giants fans upset with Travis Hunter’s antics?
If several major media reports are to be believed, then the Giants are leaning toward drafting Hunter as their first pick. The NFL team, who have got the third overall pick, haven’t yet finalized the player, and there is no clarity regarding any potential deals as well. But they have signed a veteran QB, Russell Wilson, on a one-year deal, and Jameis Winston on a two-year deal. That essentially means they wouldn’t be looking for a quarterback. But there’s something to notice here.
It’s looking quite unlikely that there won’t be any QBs (Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward) remaining for the Giants to take. Both the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns are seeking a solid quarterback, and both are eyeing Sanders and Ward. That typically would mean that Hunter could be a solid player for the Giants. But the franchise’s fans have another take on Hunter.

However, some users did point out the fact that Hunter is Leanna’s fiance, and the ‘boyfriend’ the insider was talking about was her long-time best friend. Nevertheless, people didn’t stop with their takes.
One user sarcastically remarked, “Hunter as a WR is one boyfriend and Hunter as a CB is the other boyfriend.” Another also echoed similar emotions, “His what now? I guess he really does play both ways“. Whatever may be the take; it seems Hunter’s love life is not ending to be a public spectacle.
Earlier also, former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant posted on X and urged Hunter not to marry Lee. That essentially got a lot of negative reactions, and even Shedeur Sanders came in Hunter’s support. Bryant then deleted the post after the furor.
One Giants fan stated things quite bluntly: “Seriously this can’t be the norm bringing your family with you for Pre-Draft Visits with teams. …How is his Agent not shutting that idea down…That has to be a huge red flag for the GM and HC.” Well, the fan might have a point here, as the Giants will be embroiled in a lot of negative PR if the things on the internet start to swirl around and eventually hit the team. It would also be detrimental to Hunter, too. His draft stock could also fall as opposed to now when it’s quite favorable for Hunter as far as the NY Giants are concerned.
