Renz argued that the Steelers wide receiver is nothing more than a problem for any team he is going to play for. Everyone knows the man is a little too aggressive, and his performance does not justify his salary. Mitchell explained claiming “The Raiders should NOT be interested in trading for the BIGGEST DIVA ME GUY in the NFL”. The reporter went so far as to say Pickens is worse than Davante Adams. Ouch, he really hates these rumors.
Renz also talked about how Tom Brady’s planning so far has been pretty good. And bringing George Pickens would ruin all the good things that he has done till now, “Adding the Steelers WR would go against everything Pete Carroll & John Spytek have said they want in a Raider.” But what about the Steelers? Do they want to trade the WR? Well, if we look at what’s going on in Mike Tomlin‘s camp, there are factors fuelling this speculation even more. The Steelers recently welcomed two-time Pro Bowl wideout, DK Metcalf.
This move was widely appreciated by the fans, but after it, Pickens has since become an extra for the team. George is getting some good money and his contract extension is also rumored to be massive. For now, he earns $3.656 million in 2025, and the Steelers would undoubtedly not want to pay him that. These names are none other than Tyler Lockett and George Pickens. Initially, the speculations were only about Lockett but out of nowhere Pickens entered the picture. But you know what? There have been no reports since Pickens’ Tom Brady IG story indicating that the Raiders are looking for his trade. However, the team’s options are not much. Apart from these two WRs, Tom Brady and Pete Carroll can also focus on getting a wideout in the NFL draft.
