‘Tom Brady Said No to Shedeur (Sanders)’: Raiders Under Scrutiny Despite ‘Fired Up’ Pete Carroll’s Ecstasy

2 min read

Is it surprising that the Las Vegas Raiders picked former Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty with their 6th overall pick? Well, Tom Brady’s influence is once again in the spotlight, but under scrutiny. And this time, it’s tough luck for Shedeur Sanders. In an X post on April 24, Skip Bayless made a bold assumption in all caps — “ASHTON JEANTY WILL BE VERY GOOD. BUT HE WON’T BE AS VALUABLE AS SHEDEUR. SO I HAVE TO ASSUME TOM BRADY SAID NO TO SHEDEUR.” Brady, now a minority owner and mentor within the Raiders’ brass, is known to carry significant weight in the war room.

Meanwhile, new HC Pete Carroll couldn’t contain his excitement. He posted a hyped “We’re fired up!! RAAAAIIIDDDEERRRSS!!” post on X as if Ashton Jeanty was a touchdown itself. But his energy hasn’t shielded the front office from growing scrutiny. Analysts like Skip Bayless believe passing on Shedeur Sanders could haunt Las Vegas, especially with the team’s ongoing QB uncertainties.

We never know if this is a tactical football move or a branding misstep. Tom Brady might have seen something the public didn’t. But one thing’s clear. If Shedeur Sanders delivers elsewhere and the Raiders couldn’t keep up, there’s going to be heat.
