Even off the court, Shaquille O’Neal has become a talking point at the moment. Over the course of this week, he appeared on several shows across TNT as a prominent guest. However, yesterday, he suffered a rather embarrassing moment after he opted to take a bathroom break in the middle of the ‘Inside the NBA’ show. Even his fellow co-hosts cracked jokes about this situation, leaving the audience in splits. Nonetheless, the NBA wasn’t the only sport mocking the basketball legend, as the NHL also took a cheeky dig at O’Neal.
As the next round of action begins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs later today, TNT will run its famous NHL on TNT show. Interestingly, the page’s official Twitter handle shared a picture of O’Neal on the ‘Inside the NBA’ show, where he took a bathroom break in between the show. Even Charles Barkley was present on the show, as NHL on TNT joined in making fun of the basketball legend.
On the Inside the NBA show, the hosts were also seen carrying hockey sticks as the Stanley Cup trophy was placed in the middle. Sharing a picture of Shaquille O’Neal on the show, NHL on TNT wrote, “No bathroom breaks when the Stanley Cup is in Studio J.”

Earlier, Shaquille O’Neal’s co-hosts made hilarious comments after he took a bathroom break. “You all right, big fella?” Barkley asked after O’Neal suddenly moved out of the studio. Later, he suggested that he had gone out to use a bathroom. Subsequently, Kenny “The Jet” Smith also said, “It’s that olive oil you’ve been drinking. Hey, listen. He couldn’t hold it. After 40, you can’t hold it no more, Ernie.”
Meanwhile, the likes of Barkley and Shaq are huge admirers of the Stanley Cup. As they discussed the playoffs, Barkley named the greatest trophy in sports history.
After Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley’s open admission about Stanley Cup
With the playoffs underway, top players are vying to make it to the Finals and contest for the Stanley Cup. Even though there are more popular sports in the US than hockey, the Stanley Cup holds significant importance in US sporting history. As a result, Barkley made an honest admission about the Stanley Cup and its importance.
He said, “The greatest trophy in sports is in the house, y’all. Why is it the greatest? Because everybody’s name is on there. Whoever won the Stanley Cup. Y’all fools don’t do that in the NBA. All these hockey players (written) on the bottom—the NBA, they don’t do that. Everybody who’s ever won the Stanley Cup is only going back to—you said 107 years, 85 years? (132 years).”
While the Panthers are the defending Stanley Cup champions, the likes of the Washington Capitals are dubbed one of the favorites to win the tournament. As a result, it could be anyone’s game, and this is what makes the Stanley Cup interesting to watch, with a whole lot of action taking place today.
