‘This Is Embarrassing’: Golf Community Points Fingers at PGA Tour After Another Event Is Suspended

2 min read

Texas golf is in full swing as the PGA Tour kicks off its two-week stretch in the Lone Star State at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. But the first round didn’t go as planned—darkness forced play to be suspended at 7:28 p.m. CT, leaving four players tied at the top at 5-under. Stephan Jaeger, last year’s champion, opened with an even-par 70 at the very place where he edged out Scottie Scheffler in a dramatic finish.

Meanwhile, Scheffler—still chasing his first win of the season—sits two shots back at 3-under, eager to flip the script this time around. And let’s not forget Rory McIlroy, fresh off his second PLAYERS Championship victory, battling his way through an even-par opening round. Well, looks like there is finally an update on the continuation of the first round.

As tweeted by the official X account of the PGA Tour, “The first round of the Texas Children’s Houston Open will resume Friday at 8:30 a.m. CT and the second round will begin as scheduled at 7:20 a.m.” Delays in the PGA Tour events have become a common norm, and end up leaving fans frustrated, with them dropping comments like, “This is embarrassing. If LIV ever gets its shit together you guys are screwed.”
