“They Upset Me”- Conor McGregor’s Sister Breaks Down Over Rude Comments on Child’s Autism Struggles

Much like Conor McGregor, who’s a UFC superstar, his older sister, Erin McGregor, has also been successful in her professional life. From being an entrepreneur to a known media personality, the former champ’s sister has dipped her hands in more than one avenue. However, Erin recently revealed to have been dealing with some issues, which are related to her son’s health condition.

Erin McGregor spoke openly about her 8-year-old son Harry’s autism not too long ago during an interview with People Magazine. She described the experience of parenting her son with his condition as a “transformative” experience in her life. However, she recently revealed through social media that Harry has been subject to online negativity, which she claims isn’t a novelty, as Conor McGregor’s sister thanked those who stood up for her son.

“Thank you all for your kind responses to the rude comments about Harry,” Conor McGregor’s sister wrote in her Instagram stories. “Sadly, I’m used to seeing this, but seeing how horrified you were meant a lot. Many have asked what I lost—I’m not ready to talk about it yet, but I know you’re not silly. I stayed quiet out of respect while I looked into my rights after losing my job.”

While the negative comments about her son’s condition may have been distasteful to her, Erin claims that she’s more than willing to make people understand autism. Conor McGregor has also contributed to people dealing with such situations, and his sister wants people to learn about the difficulty of not just the person with autism, but the people around him or her as well.

“Back to Harry—when I respond to those types of comments, it’s not because they upset me, but to help educate others about autism and the daily struggles families like ours face,” Erin McGregor added. “Nothing is ever as simple as it seems. Unfortunately, this kind of ignorance isn’t new to our community—just look at the comments from other mums who’ve had to endure the same.”

After Conor McGregor announced that he’s considering running for president of Ireland, he also spoke about autism. While talking about how families were affected by it in his native country, ‘The Notorious’ promised to make some positive changes for children dealing with this condition. Here’s what he had to say.

Conor McGregor will provide ‘real change’ for children with autism

Conor McGregor may have a brash, outspoken, and often unpredictable personality, but he’s also one who wants to help out the community. He shared an X post on World Autism Day, where he expressed solidarity with those dealing with the illness, claiming that there’s a considerable number of children who are suffering this fate, and to help them out, their families face certain financial challenges.

“1 in 20 school children in Ireland have an Autism diagnosis yet thousands of families worry daily about real support, school spaces, and how they will support their children financially,” Conor McGregor wrote. The former double champion questioned the authorities, believing that there is a “real lack of plan,” McGregor promised to make some changes. “It is our children who need the support NOW. We need Real Change and Real Leadership. We need common sense. I will provide Real Change,” ‘The Notorious’ added.

Coming back to Conor McGregor’s sister, she remains determined to make people more aware of autism and how it affects people while trying to shield her son from negativity.
