Friendships make everything easy, don’t they? And who better to tell that than the best trio on the Tour? You know who we’re talking about – Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Justin Thomas. These three golfing buddies have been through thick and thin together, and Spieth is now offering some valuable advice to Fowler, who’s been struggling with his game lately. He praises Fowler, saying, “He’s a very, very, very positive person and I think that’s going to serve him well. He also treats people better than just about anyone I’ve met.” And recently, Fowler emphasized how important these friendships are for him.
Speaking on the latest podcast episode of ‘Son of a Butch with Claude Harmon’ on Spotify, Rickie Fowler spilled the beans on what’s been helping him power through his career slump: his tight-knit friendships with fellow golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. Fowler calls himself a “rover kinda guy” – someone who loves to hang out with anyone and have a blast. “I feel like I’m a little bit of a rover kinda guy. I go and hang wherever,” he said, highlighting his laid-back approach to life on tour.
For Fowler, having friends like Spieth and Thomas is the ultimate game-changer. “I like to be able to fit in and have a good time with anyone,” he emphasized, talking about how friendships make the grind of golf way more enjoyable. Fowler’s enthusiasm is infectious when he talks about his friendships. “It’s a lot more fun when you can be with your buddies and kinda mix that up a bit,” he said, and let’s be real – golf can be a grind, but with friends by your side, it becomes a whole lot more enjoyable.
The trio’s bond goes beyond just golf, though. Fowler revealed that they’re all there for each other, bouncing ideas and supporting one another through thick and thin. “We’re all there for each other, we bounce off ideas for each other, I help JT when we’re home sometimes. We all wanna see each other play well,” he said. With friendships like these, it’s no wonder Fowler’s staying positive despite his career slump.

And it’s not just about golf – their families have become close too, with their kids becoming fast friends when they’re on the road. “That’s created a whole other dynamic with jordan’s oldest sammy, he’s four days older than maya so when we’re on the road they’re together all the time and then they have another and our second will be about a year behind, JTs got one coming here shortly so that’s gonna keep us together on a different level.” And well it will, as the whole golf world has witnessed enough wholesome moments between them.

However, the real stars of the show were Maya Fowler, Rickie Fowler’s daughter, and Sammy Spieth, Jordan Spieth’s son. The two toddlers stole the show with their adorable antics on the Augusta greens, winning over patrons and netizens alike. The PGA Tour shared pictures of the duo on Instagram, captioning it “Bring your kids to work day ”. The photos showed Maya and Sammy donning white overalls, with Sammy even trying to hit a golf ball with a club.
The toddlers became a center of attraction at Augusta National, with videos shared on social media showing them running around in formal white caddy attire, exploring the golf course.
