“Being a working mom, it’s not easy, but I try and make it worthwhile and always tell him I’m leaving for a reason,” Taylor Townsend confessed back in January after winning the Australian Open doubles title. Ever since she embraced motherhood and gave birth to his son Adyn Aubrey, in 2021, the American WTA pro has found it tough to strike a balance. It’s not always easy to keep playing through events and spend time with family as well. But Townsend knows how to make it happen. As she continues her Miami Open campaign, securing a spot in the QF with partner Katerina Siniakova, she’s also been able to have her ‘me time’ with Adyn.
Townsend has been constantly playing without enough breaks. She participated in the Indian Wells a few weeks back where she was able to reach the semis in doubles with Siniakova. However, they eventually lost to the pair of Asia Muhammad and Demi Schuurs. Immediately after wrapping up her run in the Californian desert, she entered the Miami Open. Her singles campaign didn’t last long as she was ousted in R32 against Qinwen Zheng. However, she’s continuing to shine in doubles with Siniakova after making it to the last four teams. On Monday, they won the R16 encounter against Anna Kalinskaya and Caty McNally.
Because of her extended run in Miami, Townsend has been unable to spend quality time with Adyn. But she’s making sure to make the best of it when she gets it. Take for example her recent string of IG stories on Monday. In one clip, she was seen sharing an adorable moment with AJ. And you know what the 2024 Wimbledon doubles champion was doing? “This is my, you know, relax wind down time with my baby. We building dinosaurs.”
Continuing further, she added, “It’s like always so many things going on so it helps me to relax and just chill and be able to just like decompress. Because it’s already been a long three weeks and we still got a lot more to go so it’s nice for me because I don’t get this (time) very much. So I try to make the most of it when I have it so why not build dinosaurs and have fun?” Of course. And even Adyn agreed. He said, “We are having fun.”
Then there was another video where Adyn was getting ready to play with the dinosaur toys. “I’m so proud lol. These not easy as it looks ,” wrote Townsend while emphasizing her efforts in assembling the toys. “Alright it’s time to battle,” she told him while laughing in pure joy. But this isn’t the first time the mother-son duo has shared a blissful time.
Mother Taylor Townsend gets overwhelmed by Adyn’s compliment
Remember the time from last week when Taylor Townsend shared a video on social media with Adyn? It really made her cry – with happiness of course – thanks to the little one’s cute praise. But what did he say that melted his mother’s heart?
“I just want love. You are so handsome,” she told him as the clip began. To that, Adyn replied with a sweet message. He said, “Thank you, princess.” Hearing those words, Townsend couldn’t believe her ears. Trying to control her feelings, she said, “You are the sweetest.” But the 4-year-old wasn’t done with his appreciation for his mother. “You are the sweetest princess I ever know. And you do nice things for me.”
Undoubtedly, she was unable to resist her happiness. “You’re gonna make me cry. I love you,” she said. To that, Adyn replied, “And thank you for letting me know you.” This last gesture was enough to make Townsend exclaim “Oh my gosh!”
Earlier this month, she also celebrated Adyn’s 4th birthday, on March 14, with a special message. On Instagram, she posted various pictures of the little one. In the caption, she wrote, “Screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son, my everything, and my ultimate blessing! ” Isn’t this mother-son duo absolutely adorable?
