Taylor Townsend, fierce and competitive on court, reveals her warmest side at home with her son Adyn and two dogs- a Doberman named Creed and a doodle named Sochi. Remember back in January, after tough practice, she was greeted with love from Adyn and Creed, a heartwarming moment that fuels her comeback. But while home is her safe space, it can get a little chaotic. This time, her dogs found themselves in for a scolding from Mama Townsend!
The American doubles champion is currently on a break after a scary injury at the Miami Open. She explained on social media that she suffered a mild concussion during her quarterfinal doubles match, which worsened over time. However, she assured fans she will be back for the French Open on May 25 after some well-deserved rest. But her dogs aren’t making it easy for her.
On an Instagram story on Monday, Taylor seemed to hold in her rage. Coming home, she said in her video, “I’m going to show you how I am terrorized by not only my human child but my dog children as well.” The camera panned to her dogs sitting guiltily on the floor next to a mess of garbage. It looked like they had torn up the kitchen bins.
Pointing to Creed, Taylor said, “You literally get on my nerve and I’m about to send you outside. You’re about to be an outside dog. Both of y’all are about to be outside dogs because I’m tired of you. Go clean this up.” In her caption, she expressed full frustration in her caption: “Someone want a Doberman and a doodle? Because I’m over them.”
Creed and Sochi aren’t strangers to mischief. Creed especially has a habit of eating her Kerry Gold butter. Taylor recently posted a video showing the dog getting a playful scolding: “Really? Again? Really, Creed?” Switching to the front camera, she revealed the cause of her frustration. “He only eats my Kerry Gold butter. He’s probably had it like thirty times-easily my butter! Probably like three hundred dollars’ worth of butter easily! Why can’t I have softened butter?” she exclaimed.
Despite the mishap, Taylor Townsend is trying to keep her patience. After all, motherhood has taught her a lot about patience. While Taylor is terrorized by her dogs, Adyn seems to be giving it right back to them!
Taylor shares her frustration of her son’s antics towards the dogs
The doubles World No. 2 recently opened up about the challenges of raising her son from a distance. In February, Townsend had been away for about six weeks from her three-and-a-half-year-old son, Adyn. During that time, she heard some amusing-and surprising-stories from his caretaker that made her realize her son was definitely missing her guidance.
Taylor shared a funny story on Instagram about Adyn’s antics involving her beloved Doberman. “I called him on FaceTime and he’s immediately on the phone crying ‘no no don’t tell her’… I am like don’t tell me what? His caretaker talking about-he’s been abusing the dog,” she said, describing the situation.
When she asked Adyn what happened, his response was priceless. “I am like what did you do AJ? And he was like I just put my hands on him and I said that doesn’t make sense. So he said I put my elbows on him, I said what does that mean? So I said if you keep hitting the dog, imma hit you,” she said, jokingly warning her son.
Taylor Townsend clearly has her hands full during her tennis break. With Roland Garros approaching, it’s a wonder if she’ll return stronger to chase the crown. She reached the 2023 French Open finals with Leylah Fernandez. Will she make another impressive run this year? Share your thoughts below!
