When Stephanie White stormed into the Fever’s locker room, she already knew her squad was itching for a champagne shower celebration. So, she took off her pair of Caitlin Clark’s Nike Kobe V Protro Player Edition sneakers, the same ones she had just finished coaching in. She knew how precious those sneakers were, especially after they sold out within minutes on Monday. So, to keep them safe from the bubbly chaos, she handed them over to a staff member before entering the locker room. But while Coach White knew what was coming, Sydney Colson wasn’t as lucky!
When Syd walked into the locker room, all “the white girls,” as she jokingly said, were ready, armed with champagne bottles and a mission. They bathed the Indiana Fever guard in bubbly and happy tears. As Sophie Cunningham shared, “We love you.” And why not? After all, it wasn’t an easy road for the Fever. Just look back, early in the first quarter, it looked like the defending champions would cruise to another title.
But then Fever held the Lynx to a season-low seven points in the second quarter and pulled away with a commanding 74–59 win. All thanks to a balanced offensive effort, led by Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, Kelsey Mitchell, Aari McDonald, and Sophie Cunningham, each scoring in double digits, the Fever clinched their first Commissioner’s Cup title. And they did it all without Caitlin Clark, who was sidelined for the third straight game due to a left groin injury.
So yes, they had every reason to celebrate, and then it was CC leading the postgame festivities as she was biting off bottle caps. Then it was Lexie Hull, CC, and Sophie shotgunning beers. But after wrapping up her media scrum outside the locker room, Colson got re-drenched in a second round of champagne, led again by Clark.

The veteran guard summed it up best: “A lot of the girls went to party schools. I hate to say the white girls, but the white girls were chugging the beers. Then there’s CC in there biting all the bottles for everybody, biting through cans and sh-t—but it was fun.” Well, that came after Colson logged 21 minutes off the bench—her most since the Fever’s win over the Liberty.
“I don’t know how to spray. I’m not a drinker. I don’t know how to do champagne celebrations,” Colson added with a laugh. “But they were open. The coaches were having a good time, chugging out of the Commissioner’s Cup. It was fun. It was a good vibe.”
And if you think that’s the limit of Clark’s wild celebrations, it wasn’t as moment the Fever sealed the win, she was in full party mode. First, she hilariously blocked Aliyah Boston’s interview. Then she made sure everyone took a sip from the trophy filled with champagne. She even called out, “Who’s next? Guys, is K.K. 21?”—referring to rookie Makayla Timpson, who turns 23 in September.
While it was a genuine check on the legal drinking age, it also highlighted how young this Fever squad is, yet already holding a trophy so makes sense why CC made sure to celebrate every bit of it. And no, this isn’t the first time she’s done so.
Caitlin Clark has got a special place in the Fever locker room!
Whether it’s dropping dimes on the court or doling out tiaras off it, Caitlin Clark knows how to celebrate her teammates like no other. When Lexie Hull announced her engagement in April 2025, it didn’t take long for Clark to make her excitement known as she left a viral “YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYY SO HAPPY” comment and took part in a surprise mid-court celebration.
And that, too, was equally wild—as during a Fever practice, CC was the first to dash toward Hull, tiara in hand and joy written all over her face, making sure the soon-to-be bride was showered with love and laughter. She didn’t just cheer online—she lived the moment with full spirit, proving once again that she’s as much of a hype woman as she is a superstar point guard.

But Caitlin isn’t the only one setting the tone in Indy. The Fever’s bond is clearly mutual. When Clark jokingly confirmed on ESPNW’s post that “Yes, yes we did” buy those bride-themed gifts, Aliyah Boston chimed in right away, “Yes we sure did because that’s who we are as teammates.”
And if you still have any doubt, then just consider last year’s locker room diaries—when a heartwarming moment was captured with CC being commended by her HC before she was doused with water by her delighted teammates. Coach Sides announced, “First time for a rookie to get a triple-double in franchise history,” pointing to Clark seated beside her. Moments later, the team rushed over to drench her with water, much to Clark’s surprise. So yes, the celebration isn’t just by Clark—it’s mutual in the Fever locker room!
