He’s back! Dub Nation was devastated when Stephen Curry injured his pelvis after hitting the deck hard during last Thursday’s Raptors clash. Although the MRI revealed no structural damage, he was forced to miss two straight games. In his absence, the Warriors suffered back-to-back blowout losses. So, it was a huge relief to see Steph back in the lineup tonight against the Pelicans. Playing like he never left, he dropped 23 points in his return and led his team to victory. After the big win, he also revealed crucial details about his injury.
“It just reminded me of 2021 when I fell into the stairs in Houston. Didn’t break anything or have any bone damage but mostly just a deep serious contusion.” He remarked. Yes, something similar happened to the Baby-Faced Assassin four years ago during a regular season game. During an iso play, he attempted a deep three over two Rockets defenders. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and backpedalled into the stands, hitting his pelvis on the edge of stairs. Of course, the stands were empty because it was during the pandemic era.
Steph drew comparison between that and the recent injury but revealed that the issue was not as serious this time, “I’ll feel it for a while but I can play. I can’t make it worse.” Moreover, the pelvic contusion did not affect his performance against the Pels, “Nah it didn’t bother, just I’m aware of it. I don’t know how long it will take but I feel like I did tonight and don’t have any other incidents where I fall then I should be fine.” So, you can expect Steph to suit up for the remaining regular season games.
