Mateusz Gamrot might have a scheduled fight this week against Ludovit Klein at UFC Vegas 107, but his focus seems to be somewhere else entirely. The Polish UFC star has started a simmering feud with, not one but, two other fighters: Benoit Saint Denis and Paddy Pimblett. Now, what is the story here?
Let’s recap. Saint Denis was initially scheduled to face Joel Alvarez at UFC 315 earlier this month. Unfortunately, the latter had to withdraw due to an injury. This led to re-signed Canadian UFC star Kyle Prepolec stepping in and losing a lacklustre bout via submission. Now, ‘Gamer’ has accused the Frenchman of ducking a fight with him at UFC 315, which led to a whole feud on X between the UFC stars.
Gamrot accused Benoit Saint Denis of turning down the fight against him and wrote on X: “BSD turned down the fight next week, what’s wrong with you guys? Grow some ba–s, cowards!” However, the 14-3-0 French lightweight star spoke to Ariel Helwani and said, “No way [I turned down the fight against Gamrot]. It’s really a fight I would love to have. I’m looking forward to what’s happening for his next fight. I hope he wins, and I would love to face him.”
Now his rival, too, spoke with Ariel Helwani, about his feud with ‘God of War,’ stating: “Bro, soldiers don’t behave like that. I started to pack my baggage, I was ready to go to Montreal, I started to cut weight, but he said no. I don’t know why. Especially after he called me out two times.” He also added, “There’s gonna be a great opportunity, maybe BSD [Benoit Saint Denis] five rounds. I’ll break him. [If he and I fight], I think there’s gonna be a lot of scramble, really good matchup, there’s gonna be nonstop action, but this is the perfect man who will be submitted.”
On top of that, he also mentioned that he was not impressed with Saint Denis’s performance at UFC 315. Gamrot acknowledged him to be tough and strong, but criticized his technique. Why is the American Top Team star a live wire at the moment? Could it have something to do with him being turned down by two separate fighters?
.@gamer_mma responds to @BenoitSt_Denis:
“Bro, soldiers don’t behave like that… I have a message in my phone that I stepped to the fight. I started to pack my baggage, I was ready to go to Montreal, I started to cut weight, but he said no.

Gamrot was also reportedly declined by Arman Tsarukyan, who claimed that he was too low in the rankings for a fight. “They offered me a fight in Abu Dhabi in July, main event of the evening, but I refused because they offered an opponent I didn’t want to fight,” Tsarukyan said as per MMA Fighting. “He’s ranked below me, and I didn’t see the point in fighting him just for money.”
Talk of the town is that if was Gamrot. That’s two high-profile fights that he has lost out on over the last few weeks. So, it’s understandable that he wants to stir up some drama, make some noise, and get a rivalry going. Which explains his angling for a Paddy Pimblett bout.
Mateusz Gamrot accuses Paddy Pimblett of taking the easy route
Paddy Pimblett is another target for the Polish fighter, and the latter claimed that Pimblett has had the easy route to success. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the #7-ranked lightweight did not sugarcoat anything. “I don’t like [Paddy Pimblett],” he said. “He’s talked too much. He’s arrogant from England. He said things about me many times.”
The 34-year-old did not like the career trajectory that the Englishman received at UFC. He also mentioned that if ‘The Baddy’ had received dangerous opponents, then he would not have won his fights. He mentioned, “He’s from Europe, I am from Europe. I think if UFC makes this fight, it’s gonna be the biggest fight in the lightweight division in Europe.”
Pimblett is the latest and probably the hottest commodity in the lightweight top 10, sitting just one spot below Gamrot at #8. If Gamrot can land the fight and get a win, it would significantly better his standings in the division. But right now, ‘Gamer’ has a fight coming up against Ludovit Klein.
