Si Woo Kim WITB April 2025: PGA Tour Star’s Golfing Essentials at RBC Heritage Explored

4 min read

Channeling his inner Scottie Scheffler from the first round, Si Woo Kim dominated the field on day two of the RBC Heritage. He managed a 7-under par 64, the same score the world no. 1 had on Thursday, to climb the leaderboard. Tied at T21 after the first 18, he landed at T2 going into the weekend action.

Almost everyone else struggled in the round except Kim. What helped him tackle the challenges presented by the Harbour Town Golf Links on Friday? The weather got a bit windier, as per the reports. That wouldn’t play in favor of many. The only thing that stands out is his golf bag. So let’s take a look at what Si Woo Kim is carrying to South Carolina that has helped him overcome the course better than his peers.

Si Woo Kim’s Callaway Comeback

On January 4, 2018, Callaway announced the signing of Si Woo Kim on a sponsorship deal. Only three months later, on April 15, 2018, the 29-year-old lost the RBC Heritage title to Satoshi Kodaira in the playoffs. Ever since then, he has had a wayward time at Harbour Town Golf Links. However, things are looking up again for the Korean national as he is back on T2, albeit only after 36 holes.

However, this time around, his golf bag is packed with some great clubs to give him the desired result. Kim is carrying the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond driver in his bag. The beautifully designed $399.99 club is extremely workable and offers very little spin off the frame. This gives Si Woo Kim a lot more control off the tee and a better chance of landing on the fairway.

According to Today’s Golfer, Kim also has the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond fairway wood in his bag. We can assume that the low spin and high workability suit the 4x PGA Tour winner. Going in for his fifth career win, his high swing speed is certainly helping him rack up the stroke differentiation at Harbour Town Golf Links. The wood comes at $150 less than the driver as it’s priced at $249.99 on the official Callaway website.

For his set of irons, the Korean native carries the Callaway X Forged CB. They are specifically designed to provide more forgiveness on the face and help golfers with consistency. At $200 a piece, we can say that they are a fair deal for anyone who struggles with ironplay.

These were all the clubs Si Woo Kim uses in his approach shot. Let’s take a look at the other side of his kit that would be more useful in tough situations and on the green.

Roughs, bunkers, and wayward greens

Whether Si Woo Kim is stuck between pinecones or his ball is dug in tall grass roughs, he can always rely on his Callaway Jaws Raw wedges to get him out of there. Kim carries the 54º & 60° versions of the wedges. With great feel off the face and exceptional spin control, these wedges are well worth their $149.99 price tag.

Like a few pros like Bernhard Langer and Akshay Bhatia, Kim has a long putter in his bag. He uses the $189.99 Odyssey 2-Ball 10 for its excellent alignment and high MOI, which helps him putt more consistently. He pairs all his clubs with the Callaway Chrome Soft X golf ball and the Golf Pride MCC gloves. His choice of apparel on the course is supplied by Nike.
