“Shut Up”: Tee Higgins’ Mom Destroys FOX Host & Chiefs Fan Over Controversial Joe Burrow Claim

5 min read

The Bengals just slapped the tag on Tee Higgins. Their last season didn’t go the way Bengals fans had hoped. The expectations drained when the injuries hit the O-line and D-line and they had their “uh-oh” moments. Just like that, the season slipped away, leaving fans frustrated and asking, “Now what?”

Well, the Bengals came up with their new roaster, but it ain’t sold to all. FS1 analyst Nick Wright took it on First Things First. Where he compared their strategy to Miami’s, saying, “The model they’re trying to mimic, it would appear, is Miami’s model, which hasn’t worked—which is a highly paid quarterback, highly paid receivers, typical spending and contract structure, and then work around the margins everywhere else.” To say, he thinks Cincinnati is putting too much money into Burrow, Chase, and Higgins while leaving other areas while the team’s defense and the offensive line are struggling.

He even took it a step further, questioning the team’s ability to draft well and calling their defense “awful.” To Wright, this setup isn’t a win. It’s a flashy one that doesn’t address the real issues.

Going on, Wright said the new roster implies that “Joe Burrow is not a great quarterback.” In his eyes, star QBs don’t need the best receiver duo in the league to win. They rather need a solid defense to get them the ball back. He pointed to Peyton Manning’s career as an example, noting that the Colts had two-star pass rushers, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis, to balance out their offense-heavy spending. Manning had Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne but won just one Super Bowl in 13 years. Wright said if Burrow is truly that great, the Bengals should focus on fixing their weaknesses instead of just stacking up on weapons.

However, this take didn’t sit well with Tee Higgins’ mom, Lady Stewart. From her Twitter handle @TEEHIGGINSMOM #5, Ma’am took no time to hit back. She made a post responding to Wright’s comments, she wrote on X: “Shut up d—, opps I mean nick”

Her response immediately went viral on social media, with Bengals fans backing Higgins’ mom in full force. One fan joked, “Nah, you got it right the first time, Mama Tee!” Another doubled down, saying, “He’ll be the reason we win Super Bowls.” Meanwhile, some saw the humor in Wright’s point, with one fan laughing, “I mean, he’s not wrong about paying three players being the best way to win a championship.” All this while the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs supporters debate goes on…

Chiefs fans on the Joe Burrow claim

The Cincinnati Bengals secured long-term deals with their star wide receivers, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. This promises that QB Joe Burrow will continue to have his top targets as the team eyes a Super Bowl run. Kansas City Chiefs fans have been quick to join the conversation, drawing comparisons between Burrow and their own star QB, Patrick Mahomes. They argue that Mahomes has thrived despite roster changes, after the departure of star receiver Tyreek Hill. In the 2022 season, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory and posted impressive stats, throwing for 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to adapt and maintain the performance without Hill.

When Ja’Marr Chase called Tee Higgins “WR 1-A” in an interview, Bengals fans hoped in. Some loved the loyalty, calling it a move from Chase. “He’s got his number two’s back, no matter what,” one fan pointed out. “That’s true brotherly love and a team mentality.” Another added, “He’s making it clear Tee is his equal, not some second fiddle.”

Others were quick to remind everyone that Higgins could be a WR1 anywhere else, comparing him to top receivers. “Tee would be WR1 on most teams, just like DeVonta Smith,” one fan argued. Another chimed in, “He’s better than guys like Nico Collins and Amon-Ra. Put him on his own team, and he’s right up there with CeeDee and A.J. Brown.” Of course, not everyone agreed. Some fans pointed out the reality of contracts and team structure. “I love that Ja’Marr is standing by Higgins, but that deal says he’s a WR2,” one fan said. And then there were those just ready for football—no more debates, no more speculation. “Enough talk, no more fake hurt—let’s gooo!” one fan hyped up.

Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have been together since their LSU days. And Burrow made sure everyone knew just how much he values it. “You know when you are playing with somebody for a long time, you develop that communication—you really don’t have to communicate. To Ja, he is a great team player and my best friend, he is one of the all-time greats.”

His words had fans fired up, with one calling them the best QB & WR friendship, while another kept it simple with “Joe Burrow with the smooth 1-2.” Some even went all in on the Bengals’ Super Bowl hopes, saying “The best duo, give them a good defense, they deserve a Super Bowl.” No matter how you look at it, these two have something special, and fans are just hoping it leads to a ring.

To put it all together, it doesn’t matter which side you are on, the Bengals or the Chiefs, the AFC will remain home to some thrilling quarterback play, as the future looks bright for both franchises.
