“She Was Bad”: Nate Diaz Belittles Rampage Jackson for Making His Brother Nick Feel Insecure Around Alleged Girlfriend

5 min read

Some stories simply refuse to fade. Especially when the Stockton brothers, Nate and Nick Diaz, are involved, or when someone like Rampage Jackson is at the center of it. On a recent podcast, a hilarious, slightly uncomfortable memory resurfaced, bringing up old teenage fears, awkward flirtation, and a burger joint that was simply not up to par. What started off as a casual talk instantly turned into an unexpected moment of introspection, with Nate Diaz stepping forward to speak on behalf of his older brother.

Rampage was the first to unlock the memory vault, half laughing and half confessing. He remembered a time when he flirted with a girl who happened to be connected to one of the Diaz brothers. “I was trying to talk to one of their girlfriends,” Rampage admitted on the HJR podcast. “You know how I joke around — when one of my friends has a hot girl, I flirt with her just to let him know, like…”

Before he could finish, ‘The Stockton Slugger’ jumped in to provide some clarification and possibly some protection for Nick Diaz’s dignity. He understood exactly what Rampage Jackson was talking about. “It wasn’t even a thing, though,” Nate Diaz replied. “You were probably just like, ‘What’s up,’ and he was just insecure, trying to get this girl. She was bad. I remember her, too. She was bad.”

And by “bad,” Nate Diaz meant she was stunning—way out of Nick Diaz’s league at the moment. An affluent, beautiful girl who immediately made young ‘Diablo’ feel out of his depth. Further on the podcast, Nate Diaz described how his brother used to talk about her all the time and how that encounter with Rampage, even if it was only a quick hello, stayed with him.

He said, “He would tell me about her, and then I heard about it later. He’s like, ‘Man, Rampage, I knew I f—– up right there. I f—– up bringing her in there — in a Burger King or something.’” That Burger King experience became the story’s punchline—a location so casual that it entirely contradicted the type of girl ‘Diablo’ was attempting to impress. Nate Diaz laughed, recalling how Nick didn’t even like Burger King but went there anyhow.

That moment stands out not because it was perfect, but because it was authentic and messy. Nick Diaz trying to figure things out, awkward and hopeful, just like everyone else. He is now in a different place, with his longtime partner Kay by his side while he deals with his mental health and prior issues.

The Burger King story may be unpleasant, but it is part of who he is. A UFC legend who fans are waiting to return. So, will we get to see him fight anytime soon? Well, it seems like a possibility considering a major update on his health not too long ago.

Nick Diaz may make a 2025 return to the UFC

That embarrassing Burger King incident feels like a universe apart from where Nick Diaz has been lately. Last year was difficult—two fights against Vicente Luque were canceled, and things took an unexpected turn when a video of Nick Diaz setting grass on fire leaked. It aroused widespread anxiety and discussion regarding his mental state.

Even Luque seemed concerned, and the incident resulted in Diaz being momentarily detained. It was a low point, and many wondered if we’d ever see him fight again. However, a shift occurred. Early this year, ‘Diablo’ appeared in a video from a Mexican retreat or treatment clinic. He appeared clearer and calmer—something fans hadn’t seen in a long time.

His instructor, Cesar Gracie, backed it up by tweeting a photo of Nick Diaz smiling and claiming he’s healthy and doing great. It felt like a minor but meaningful hint that he might be getting his life back on track. Still, the future remains uncertain. Diaz has not won a fight since 2011, and his most recent UFC fight resulted in a loss in which he claimed he had not trained properly for years.

The UFC may be hesitant to book him again after so many cancellations. But, honestly, at this point, it doesn’t matter if or when Nick fights again. It’s important that he’s healthy and ready; if that happens, everything else will fall into place. What do you think? Will we get to see a massive return in 2025? Let us know in the comments.
