Shaquille O’Neal Regrets Ferrari Purchases After $350,000 Worth Product Almost Drowned Him

Shaquille O’Neal’s massive presence has dominated NBA courts for decades, but his love for cars has been just as big—literally. The Big Aristotle has a collection that could put most gearheads to shame, with a mansion big enough to house them all. But when he finally decided to indulge in a Ferrari, there was just one problem—he didn’t fit. And in classic Shaq fashion, he went for an unconventional fix.

So, what did he do? Instead of settling for a different car, Shaq took some wild advice from a dealer—combine two Ferraris to create one Shaq-sized ride. He went all in, purchasing a silver F355 and a red 360 Modena, both soft-tops, only to have them modified beyond recognition. The seats were pushed back, the top was removed, and the fuel tank had to be relocated. The result? A one-of-a-kind Ferrari that cost him a whopping $350,000 for customization.

But despite the hefty price tag, things didn’t go as planned. During a recent BeatBox YouTube interview, Shaq hilariously detailed the failed experiment.

“I bought two Ferraris, I bought a real Ferrari, I bought a a salvage Ferrari. [I] cut my real Ferrari in half two pieces of the Salvage for to stretch it and then realized I couldn’t fit and then we had to take the top off premier lead which gave me about 5 more inches,” he admitted.

Yet, even with the modifications, disaster struck. That custom Ferrari, once a $350,000 dream car, ended up being sold for just $65,000 in 2020. Why? As Shaq put it, “It all worked out good until I didn’t read the weather report. I went to Miami to Fort Lauderdale, and on the way back, it started raining, and the whole car got flooded up.”

However, do you know Shaq has a passion for customization?

Shaquille O’Neal has a passion for customization

Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t just buy cars—he transforms them. His love for customization goes beyond flashy paint jobs or fancy rims. Instead, he modifies vehicles to fit his massive 7’1” frame, turning high-end sports cars into Shaq-sized rides. In 2024, he took his passion for innovation even further by adding multiple Tesla Cybertrucks to his collection. Their futuristic design and extra space made them a perfect fit for the Diesel, blending style with practicality.

But that was just the beginning. When Shaq set his sights on a Lamborghini Gallardo, he knew it needed some serious adjustments. The solution? A complete overhaul of the wheelbase and roofline to accommodate his towering build. The price tag? A staggering $600,000 just to make the Italian supercar work for him.

Yet, Shaq’s garage isn’t just about collecting high-end machines—it’s about making them his own. With a fleet of around 40 vehicles, ranging from luxury Lamborghinis to custom-built trucks, his collection stands out for its uniqueness. Unlike most celebrity garages filled with untouched exotics, Shaq’s lineup is built for both function and style.

With cars priced anywhere from $100,000 to over a million, his collection is a reflection of his personality—big, bold, and impossible to ignore.
