Fashion was never Jannik Sinner’s thing until Gucci came calling. Last September, he attended the Milan Fashion Week, alongside Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst and K-pop star Jin. Clad in a sleek black jacket, Sinner showcased effortless sophistication, poles apart from his basic tennis attire. The Italian’s fashion sense has been enhanced through his collaboration with Gucci, a brand he now sees as more than just a sponsor. The partnership has been thriving since 2022 and Sinner continues to grace the events with dazzling outfits.
With a three-month (February 9th to May 4th) ban from the sport and the World No. 1 position on the line for missing out on four ATP 1000 tournaments, most would lie low, but not Jannik Sinner. Despite the turbulence, the 2025 AO winner is unfazed, turning heads in Milan Fashion Week once again.
Sinner’s out-of-court settlement with WADA for a 3-month ban drew criticisms from players like Nick Kyrgios, Daniil Medvedev, and Stan Wawrinka, who expressed strong dissatisfaction about the process, hinting at favoritism. However, WADA general counsel Ross Wenzel came forward with a statement to clear the air. “This was a case that was a million miles away from doping. The scientific feedback that we received was that this could not be a case of intentional doping, including micro-dosing,” Wenzel said, trying to justify the decision.
Despite WADA’s statement, the tennis fraternity remains divided with a few like Casper Ruud and Feliciano Lopez supporting Sinner and others criticizing him. While the curtain isn’t down on the controversy yet, Jannik Sinner seems to be willing to move on. The World No. 1 attended Milan Fashion Week, as Gucci’s brand ambassador, gracing the show’s front seat in an all-black ensemble paired with white sneakers. He was clicked alongside Vogue’s esteemed Anna Wintour.

Sinner has had a great partnership with Gucci since July 2022, when he first signed for the brand. Ever since, he has been spotted with fashionable Gucci duffle bags on many occasions such as the 2023 Wimbledon, the 2024 Roland Garros, the 2023 ATP Finals, and so on. He also attended Milan Fashion Week as Gucci’s prominent figure alongside Kirsten Dunst and K-pop star Jin last September. Dressed in a black jacket and trousers with an olive green polo t-shirt, the Italian looked quite ravishing at the Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show.
In an interview with the GQ magazine last year, the ATP No. 1 credited Gucci’s creative director Sabato De Sarno for making every piece unique with his art of crafting stories with each ensemble. “I didn’t know fashion at all. He explains the story and the reason behind certain clothes. I like this family feeling, no? Sometimes we text each other, it’s nice. I feel like, whenever he [Sabato de Sarno] works, he’s very professional, but then whenever he finishes the work, he is like us, like just normal people,” he said.
For Sinner, Gucci is not just a sponsor but a creative organization with whom he shares common values.
Jannik Sinner and his shared “values” with Gucci
In an interview with Vogue last year, Sinner was asked to describe Gucci as a brand and a team. In his response, the Italian said, “With Gucci, I share many values such as authenticity, loyalty, and passion.” His admiration for the renowned brand was quite evident in his words. Additionally, Sinner shed light on the usefulness of his Gucci duffle bags, revealing the things the bag can carry along with rackets and uniforms. “I carry different things like clothes, drinks, gels, grips, sometimes some fruit, and everything I need when I am on the court,” he remarked.
Last year, Jannik Sinner received many compliments for his dashing look in a Gucci campaign. Dressed in the brand’s grey turtleneck with a metallic duffle bag, his screen presence delighted legendary Serena Williams, who commented on IG, “Love this.” Even Riley Opelka called his look “the coolest.” This campaign also showcased the brand’s nod to tennis, a relationship that went long in the past.
According to Gucci, “The new campaign with tennis player Jannik Sinner recalls a special part of Gucci’s heritage, a relationship that goes back to the 1970s when the House created its first tennis-inspired pieces. Now, showcasing the championed athlete on the court through the reportage-style lens of Riccardo Raspa, Gucci redefines the connection between tennis and the House’s heritage.” By including Sinner in this campaign, the luxury brand showcased its faith in the Italian player’s potential.
Jannik Sinner’s recent presence at Milan Fashion Week highlights his ability to remain unaffected amid all the noise around him. He seems to enjoy his off-court moments before a potential comeback in Rome. Are you waiting for his comeback?
