Picture this: it’s 2013, you’re watching the NFL Combine, half-expecting the usual big-guy shuffle, and then boom—this 300-pound lineman blazes through the 40-yard dash like he’s late for brunch. That was Terron Armstead. From that moment on, folks weren’t just watching—they were remembering the name. And let’s be real, the man didn’t slow down from there, not one bit.
Armstead spent 12 seasons in the NFL—first 9 with the New Orleans Saints and the rest of ’em in Miami. And if there’s one thing that we can surely say about him, it’s that Armstead wasn’t just your big guy in the trenches. The man was out there being his quarterbacks’ trusted bodyguards. Fast forward to now, and the 33-year-old offensive tackle called it a clear. So now what?
Well, if you’re thinking that Armstead’s going to hit a few golf rounds or take booth job—think again. In fact, he’s already getting calls for coaching a team. We’re talking Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos, folks. Recently, Terron stopped by to Kay Adams’ Up & Adams Show where he was asked if he’s got a message from Payton. His response? Well, the Saints’ legend straight-up admitted that the Broncos’ HC wants him on his coaching staff.
“Yeah, he (Payton) called me yesterday,” Armstead said. “And he wants me to work with him or for him in whatever capacity. So we have to have another conversation.”
