Heading into The Masters, two things are keeping Brooks Koepka’s rumored possible return to the PGA Tour afloat. And, honestly, at some point, you have to blame Koepka for it. Firstly, there are rumors he will leave LIV Golf with his contract expiration coming in the 2026 season. Koepka didn’t help diffuse the rumor when he muttered those famous sentences: “I don’t know where I’m going, so I don’t know how everybody else does.” Makes sense. Koepka ought to know about his own 2026 goals better than us. But even before that, his relationship with Greg Norman, the former LIV Golf CEO, boosted this particular conversation. If you are asking “How?” we have an answer.
When Greg Norman was about to make his exit from LIV Golf as its CEO, Brooks Koepka and fellow golfer Jon Rahm seemed more interested in the Saudi-backed league’s first TV rights win with FOX Sports than in his departure. Talking about this particular situation, Koepka said, “Having FOX Sports on board is a huge win for LIV Golf. They know how to bring sports to life, and I’m pumped to see how they showcase what makes our game so unique.”
In the simplest terms, Brooks Koepka is very outright with where he stands with LIV Golf, at least sometimes. Is it constantly due to LIV Golf’s failure to measure up to Koepka’s previous Tour? Likely. Recently, Brooks Koepka has been active on the greens for the latest LIV Golf event in Miami at Trump National Doral. He sat down for a joint interview with his fellow golfer, Bryson DeChambeau. The interviewer asked them what they thought about LIV Golf’s current position in the golf world. “What changes need to be made?” the interviewer added.
So, what does Brooks Koepka answer? Well, a lot. “I think we all hoped it would have been a little bit further along, and that’s no secret. No matter where you’re at, you always hope everything is further along. But they’re making progress, and it seems to be going in the right direction.”
This is a developing story…
