Jalen Hurts’s Philadelphia Eagles are getting another chance at the Green Bay Packers. And this one will be personal. The NFL announced on Good Morning America that the Packers will host Philly in Week 10 for Monday Night Football at Lambeau. Now, this would already be a big game, a playoff rematch under the lights. But here’s where it gets spicy.
Green Bay’s been openly pushing for the league to ban the Eagles’ infamous “tush push” play. So, when these two teams collide on November 10, the topic of tush push will buzz on the internet. But guess what? Roger Goodell and the league are coming up with another update for the reigning Super Bowl champs.
According to ProFootballTalk on X, “With four standalone games already announced, the Eagles will play plenty of big-audience games in 2025. That makes a tush-push ban at next week’s owners meetings even more likely.” Yes! Jalen Hurts’s Eagles have already secured four major prime-time games before the full schedule release. This is significant. Yeah, they’re the champs, so it makes sense, but there’s more to it.
With all eyes on Philly during these solo matchups, the heat’s turning up on that controversial “tush push.” Jalen Hurts’ team will open the season on Thursday night against the Cowboys. Then face the Packers in Week 10 (funny enough, the same team pushing for the play to be banned). And next, they will take on the Bears on Black Friday and the Commanders in December.

So, with that kind of spotlight, Roger Goodell’s league won’t want any awkward optics or injury scares going down in front of 20 million people. Hence, as per Mike Florio, the owners will meet soon, and you can even feel the league’s patience wearing thin. But who knows? Perhaps, Jalen Hurts’ champs will come up with another playing style to block the opposition.
Well, if Goodell axes the play, though, don’t think the Eagles are sweating it; they’ll just find another way to crush short-yardage. But before that, they are likely to cut short their QB room. The room, which also includes Jalen Hurts.
Eagles are observing Jalen Hurts and other QBs in the locker room?
The Eagles are stacked at quarterback right now, and it’s starting to turn some heads. With Jalen Hurts locked in as the guy, as their superstar, the team also has Tanner McKee, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and newly drafted Kyle McCord. And this seems a bit crowded at the moment. But, as per the latest reports, McKee is suddenly at the center of trade talk, especially with the Saints.
New Orleans just lost Derek Carr due to injury-retirement and needs a fresh arm, so McKee’s name is heating up. Yeah, it makes sense. He played well in limited snaps last year, racking up four touchdowns, no picks, and over 300 yards. In addition, he has got the size, the poise, and already knows Saints coordinator Kellen Moore’s system. So, that’s a big deal. Philly could use this moment to cash in, maybe grab some draft capital, while still keeping solid depth behind Hurts.
Whether a move happens before the season or after roster cuts, all eyes will be on McKee this preseason. If he falls, it might be the last time we see him in Jalen Hurts’s green.
