Rob Gronkowski Warns Bill Belichick of ‘Real Problem’ as GF Jordon Hudson Confirms Engagement

5 min read

Enough people have written, talked, analyzed, and even given judgments on Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. As Jordan’s influence grew in the backdrop of her CBS interview or Belichick’s emails instructing his staff to include her in communications, the spotlight turned to Jordon. But the looming question was hidden deeper, and Upton Bell, the former Patriots GM, asked it bluntly. “You can’t just point at the woman here and say, ‘She is being controlling’. That only happens if you let yourself be controlled, right?.” The verdict is blunt, but Bill Belichick surely hasn’t done an iota of significant work to shed that spotlight away from Jordon or the controversy, and if Gronk is to be believed? It will get brutal out there.

There’s a lot you read or hear about Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson, and most of it might just be true. Pablo Torre’s report that Jordon was banned from UNC may have quickly put UNC in damage control mode with a statement denying it. But Torre’s claim about the report being backed by 11 members of the UNC can’t be ignored as well. After all, as Torre put it, “UNC had every incentive to lie” in the current scenario. Then came the reports that Jordon had amassed close to $8 million in a real estate portfolio and was deeply involved in every commercial decision of Belichick’s life.

Rob Gronkowski, speaking on the 20th May episode of ‘Bussin’ with the Boys’, was asked if Hudson was a distraction and if Belichick had done enough to calm down the situation. “That’s a little surprising to me cuz he was all about eliminating distractions and like it’s kind of; I mean we can’t really say if it’s a distraction yet or not, because well, no in the win-loss column this year.” At Patriots, Gronk told the hosts that Belichick was always trying to diffuse the situations. “If there was something going on and it was just at like just bickering, you know, the team and like everyone had to deal with it, he would kind of say something, ‘Hey, kind of like amp it down a little bit’.” At Patriots, the head coach even had one-on-one meetings to diffuse the situations, as Gronk said. But what’s stopping Belichick from doing the same at UNC?

Reports emerged (per The Athletic) that a local UNC business had launched T-shirts with the catchphrase ‘Chapel Bill,’ but what followed was gruesome. Within days, the companies received emails from Hudson stating that the slogan was intellectual property. And months later the catchphrase was registered as a trademark by Jordon. Even when Belichick’s 2025 season at UNC was going to be the subject of a documentary by HBO, ‘Hard Knocks’, Hudson demanded content approval and partial ownership. But the production company pulled the plug after that. All of these have led to a very delicate situation. Rob Gronkowski was baffled by Belichick’s decision not to ‘diffuse’ the situation and gave a harsh take.

“I kind of feel like he’s not diffusing the situation at all when it could be diffused a little bit more. And it’s becoming a distraction to the whole entire program at the University of North Carolina, a little bit. So, it kind of goes against that, but like I said, he’s also loosened up tremendously, and he’s kind of, you know, changed personality since being a coach in the NFL.” The verdict is clear.

There are ample whispers regarding the duo. Maybe Belichick isn’t feeling the same pressure that he felt when he was in the NFL? Maybe he’s letting Jordon do these things because they financially or emotionally make sense to him, who knows? But one thing is clear. It’s unfair to blame Jordon for the things when the head coach himself could have diffused the situation by not putting his girlfriend in the spotlight so much. Even then, as Gronk pointed out, all will be well if  “he wins every game or puts up eight wins this year at UNC, well then there will be no distractions at all.” However, the situation could now get more meddled since it’s reported that Jordon and Belichick are taking a massive step in their lives.

Marriage on the cards for Jordon and Bill Belichick?

What’s the next step for any couple after dating for several years and being in a relationship for a long time? It’s usually engagement, then marriage, right? Well, that’s how the world usually works, and Belichick and Jordon are reported to be taking that massive step. As per NY Times’ Katherine Rosman, ” Ms. Hudson has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.

Well, as usual, it’s a moment of great happiness for the couple who are reported to be tying the knot in the future. Despite the speculations contrary to Jordon’s claim, she has always expressed immense love for Belichick and even said. “I will not be cyber-bullied into submission…I will continue to stand for love, authenticity, and the permissibility of nonconformity. They can burn me at the stake, but they cannot burn out my light!”

All in all, personal decisions should be personal and always be limited to the people making them. The duo looks happy, and if they are making it official, then we should all celebrate it, right? Moreover, even if some of the antics cross those blurred lines, what’s the logic behind blaming Jordon, when the head coach himself isn’t doing too much to diffuse the situation, as Gronk said?
