“RIP Donald”- Dana White Joins to Mourn Sudden Demise of Closest Friend’s Pet Dog With Emotional Message

4 min read

Dana White knows pretty well how it feels to lose an animal that has been too close to one’s heart. Earlier this year, the UFC head honcho lost his prized bull, Twisted Steel, who passed away after battling some undisclosed issues. But this time, it was all about a dog. No, White didn’t lose his dog, although his English Mastiff was previously euthanized because of a horrendous incident. But Stephen Deleonardis from the Nelk Boys just lost his famous French Bulldog. And the UFC head honcho, being a close friend to ‘SteveWillDoIt’, had to join him in the sad times.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Deleonardis shared a series of stories about Donald the Frenchie’s passing. In one of those stories, he shared a picture of the UFC bossman holding the dog. With ‘See You Again’ by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth playing in the background, the caption read, “RIP DONALD. SOME PEOPLE WILL SAY IT’S JUST A DOG. BUT HE WAS MY MY SOUL DOG.”

White joined the Nelk Boys member in his mourning. The UFC CEO took a screenshot of Deleonardis’ story and shared it on his own Instagram profile. Having spent some time with the viral Frenchie, it was only natural for the UFC head honcho to feel sad. But it seemed like people had confused Donald to be White’s dog. He shared another IG Story where he clarified, “Donald the Dog was not my dog. He was @stevewilldoit dog. I reposted Steve’s post. Thank you for reaching out everyone.”

But did you know that not all of White’s experiences with dogs were as pleasant as with Donald the Frenchie? Well, there was a time when he had to face the wrath of an English Mastiff. Let’s take a look at what it’s all about.

Dana White recalls the time when his dog attacked his daughter

On episode #723 of the JRE, White sat down with Tony Hinchcliffe and Joe Rogan for a 2-hour-long talk. During their chat, the UFC CEO revealed a story where his dog, an English Mastiff, attacked his daughter and ripped her ear off. The incident happened when Daniel Cormier took on Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192. White recollected that his phone rang loudly while he was sitting at the event. It was his sister-in-law, and when he picked it up, it was total chaos on the other side. He said, “We have a 2-year-old English mastiff, who jumped on my daughter and ripped her ear off her head in my house. Just jumped at her… ripped her ear half this way and then off the head. So it was hanging by the bottom of the ear.”

Without wasting a moment, White grabbed one of the UFC doctors. But the doctor had a different plan. He asked for a plastic surgeon to fix White’s daughter’s ear. The UFC boss continued, “When the plastic surgeon came and put her ear back on and then fixed the ear this way, sewed it back together. My daughter’s ear looks unbelievable.”

Even though White got the medical aid in time, the concerned authorities were forced to put down the English Mastiff following the incident. With his daughter narrowly escaping the wrath of a guardian dog, it seems like White’s love for the animals hasn’t gone down. Nevertheless, there was a time when the 55-year-old shared an Instagram Story about falling for cats now.

What’s your stance on White’s mourning? Are you also a dog parent? If so, let us know all about your dog and how you connected with Deleornardis’ message in the comments down below.
