Professional wrestling may have never become the multi-billion-dollar industry it is today if we hadn’t had Hulk Hogan popularize it during the 1980s. ‘Hulkamania’ literally ran wild during what many claim to be the golden age of WWE, as Hogan’s popularity transcended from the wrestling ring to the silver screen. Well, in a sad development recently, it appears that the WWE Hall of Famer has finally breathed his last at the age of 71.
Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is perhaps one of the icons of pop culture, inspiring millions of people around the world, but especially in the United States. Former UFC interim titleholder Colby Covington appears to be one of those that Hogan inspired, as he shared a message for the WWE legend. As the reason for Hogan’s passing was cited as a cardiac arrest, Covington wrote, “Thank you for inspiring a whole generation of Real Americans Hulkster. Hulkamania will live forever,” on Instagram.
Colby Covington was among many others who mourned Hulk Hogan’s passing, with a couple of fans commenting, “America’s Champ,” and “RIP.” This proves that the ‘Hulkster’ has touched many people’s lives. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
