Rico Hoey has been playing professional golf for the past seven years. After starting on mini tours, the Filipino golfer clawed his way to the top of the PGA Tour in 2023. Before that, he had plied his trade on the PGA Tour Canada and then the Korn Ferry Tour.
He has one victory on the PGA Tour Canada, at the Freedom 55 Financial Championship. That victory put $36,000 in his pocket. A modest sum, but considering he was 21 at that time and was grinding his way to the top, the victory was more of a confidence boost than adding a significant amount to his bank account.
From PGA Tour Canada, he has earned $75,435 in total thanks to another runner-up finish and five other top tens. Then he moved to the Korn Ferry Tour. In the feeder tour, Hoey, who changed his nationality to Filipino, hoping to represent the country at the Olympics, played 90 events on the Korn Ferry Tour, making 58 cuts.

His first victory came at the Visit Knoxville Open in 2023. That also punched his ticket to the PGA Tour. The 29-year-old pocketed $180,000 as the champion, his largest paycheck at that time. In KFT, he also has ten further top ten finishes, four top-five finishes, and a runner-up finish. All of which puts his KFT earnings at $732,877.
Since 2024, he has been playing his trade on the PGA Tour. This is where he has earned most of his total career income. From the 27 cuts he made in 43 tournaments, Rico Hoey nabbed $2,402,454. He has yet to win a tournament on the PGA Tour, although he has two top-five finishes. In total, Hoey has earned $3.2M from his on-course earnings. He also has sponsorships from different brands.
