RGIII Throws Tom Brady Under the Bus to Save Shedeur Sanders as Coach Prime’s Son Gets Rejected by Titans

4 min read

I could bring cameras and eyes anywhere I go…It don’t matter where I go, I know … the influence I have on the society and the culture…So wherever I go, it’s definitely going to be an improvement than what it was before I got there.” This was Shedeur Sanders interviewing, panting profusely, barely able to speak, yet keeping his off-the-field confidence intact after throwing passes and running drills in Colorado’s Pro Day. This was a day when people ultimately got to see the well-touted player finally showcasing his talent after snubbing the NFL combine despite being invited.

Sanders’s case in the NFL draft is so peculiar that analysts would make it an ultimate case study in the future. After all, the player had proven everything with Colorado last season. Notched up more than 4,000+ yards at a stellar 74% completion rate for 37 touchdowns. Yet, despite all of this, Sanders has increasingly been relegated day by day to later picks. No one knows why it’s exactly happening, but there are some theories.

First and foremost were the allegations of being ‘arrogant’ leveled against him by some of the most prominent scouts and analysts. As per NFL insider Josina Anderson, one of the prominent coaches claimed that Sanders came off as “brash” and “arrogant.” Then Todd McShay also said the same thing, saying that he had heard from at least two teams about Sanders being “arrogant,” especially in the NFL Combine interview. The ‘arrogant’ allegations hadn’t even faded away as another major allegation started resurfacing after the Pro Day.

It all started when Jaguars safety Andre Cisco posted on X about one of the alleged major deficiencies in Sanders’ throwing motion. “Boy, better stop patting that ball, we breakin onnat earlyyyy“. The Jaguars’ safety was talking about Sanders patting the ball before throwing, which could be viewed as ‘wasted motion’ and an unnecessary distraction for any QB. However, support came in early for the former Buffs QB.

Some NFL Media- “Shedeur Sanders patting the ball before he throws is a MASSIVE problem.”

People with Common Sense- “Tom Brady patted the ball before he threw it.”

Some NFL Media- “……..”

Stop the hate already.

Former Heisman Trophy winner QB and 2012 NFL Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin III jumped in support of Shedeur. He posted on X, “Some NFL Media- ‘Shedeur Sanders patting the ball before he throws is a MASSIVE problem’ “. He wrote next, replying to the ‘NFL media’ criticizing Shedeur. “People with Common Sense- ‘Tom Brady patted the ball before he threw it’ “. He wrote at last, “Stop the hate already.”

Well, Tom Brady did part the ball, and we all know how he turned out, right? But does Shedeur Sanders have any comparison with Brady? Surely not. However, one thing is clear: with comparison to such a massive figure, who is a legend in his own right, Shedeur Sanders can feel a sigh of relief. However, all the dark clouds may not have faded away yet.

Shedeur Sanders rejected by the Titans?

We all know how hot the Giants were for Shedeur Sanders building up to this whole off-season. An NFL scout summarized the whole hype: “New York-loving Shedeur is the worst-kept secret in the league right now.” The Giants even sent a massive contingent of 14 members consisting of front-office personnel, scouts, and head coach Joe Schoen himself. That tells you the level of interest the Giants had in Sanders. Along with that, there was also interest from the Titans, the team with the No. 1 picl.

In the pro-day throwing drills, Sanders threw 63 passes and completed 58, with three incompletions coming from drops by the wide receivers. However, despite the performance Sanders had put in, the Titans are now looking to move on from Sanders. As per Yahoo Sports, “Shedeur Sanders and the Titans canceled his upcoming private workout with the team after meeting at his Pro Day.”

What this means could be the Titans are going with Cam Ward. However, this could also mean that Shedeur is looking towards another camp like that of the Cleveland Browns, whose owner Jimmy Haslam met Deion Sanders on the Colorado Pro Day. Or lastly, it could be an outright rejection by the Titans. For now, it all seems very uncertain. However, with time, things may look clearer.
