“Real athlete” Taylor Fritz Gets Chipotle to Fulfil His “Ideal” Wish

Jannik Sinner made headlines when he walked onto Centre Court at Wimbledon with a sleek Gucci duffle. The Italian star’s look was such a hit that a panel of the Top 8 men’s players voted it the tour’s “Best Walk-Out” moment. Sinner then upped his style game as he showed up at Roland Garros the next year with a Head X Gucci customised bag. Funnily, Holger Rune once went viral for bringing an Ikea bag to the US Open in 2021. The bright blue bag turned heads for all the right reasons, showing that on-court fashion doesn’t always have to come with a hefty price tag. Now, Taylor Fritz is joining the stylish bag squad!

Fritz has never hidden his love for Chipotle. The Southern California native has often spoken about his go-to post-workout burrito bowls and guacamole. Back in 2022, he spent most of a Business Insider interview chatting about his pre-Grand Slam meals, which usually included a Chipotle bowl after a tough workout.

Fast forward to 2024, and that love turned into a real partnership. Fritz landed what he called a “dream” sponsorship with Chipotle. He announced the news on social media, writing, “If you know me… you know this is a dream come true,” alongside a photo of his new Hugo Boss kit featuring a Chipotle patch. That wasn’t all. The 27-year-old also received the exclusive Chipotle Celebrity Card, which means free Chipotle for life. He joined the brand’s athlete team alongside names like NBA’s Anthony Edwards, soccer star Sophia Smith, beach volleyball champ Sara Hughes, and skateboarder Jagger Eaton. They are part of the “Real Food For Real Athletes.” Each athlete also created their own custom meal for Chipotle’s menu in July 2024. Fritz’s signature bowl? A white rice base, double chicken, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. Simple, filling, and very on-brand.

But Chipotle took the love one step further. They gifted the American tennis star a custom yellow bag with the official Chipotle logo on it. He shared the surprise on Instagram, posting a story with the caption, “No way “. Along with the bag was a note that read, “Taylor, What does your ideal Chipotle bag look like? Enjoy!”

Interesting fact: He is not the only one with a quirky partnership. Iga Swiatek partnered up with Lego in 2024. The Pole often carries Lego sets with her on the road, as it helps her relax. Another fun partnership was when Naomi Osaka became the face of PlayStation in 2020. It was a dream deal for the intense video-game player.

So, when will we see Taylor Fritz carrying that bag on court? He is currently out of action due to an injury but he has all the support that he needs!

Taylor Fritz nurses injury with the cutest “emotional support”

Taylor Fritz’s 2025 season has been off to a rough start. After an early Australian Open exit against Gael Monfils, he has been struggling with an abdominal injury since February. The issue, affecting his right oblique muscle, first flared up before the Dallas Open.

Despite the pain, he pushed through and competed in the Sunshine Doubles. At Indian Wells, he had to bow out to the eventual champion Jack Draper in the Round of 16. However, the former US Open finalist’s run in Miami was impressive, where he reached the semifinals. But things got worse during his quarterfinal match against Matteo Berrettini. The injury forced him to withdraw from the Monte Carlo Masters and ATP Munich, where he was last year’s runner-up.

Still, Fritz is staying positive during this break. Off-court, he’s been enjoying some down time with two new foster kittens. On Instagram, he posted heartwarming videos of the black kittens, calling them his “Injury emotional support foster kitties.”

He is now targeting a return at the Madrid Open, which runs from April 23 to May 4, 2025. So maybe we’ll spot the Chipotle bag making its debut in Spain. But will Taylor Fritz also bring the heat when he returns to the court? What do you think?
