Ravens Superstar Accuses Teammate of ‘Double Rejections’ as Lamar Jackson’s Side Named Best NFL Team After Free Agency

4 min read

The NFL offseason is here, and let’s be real—things are far from chill in Baltimore. Lamar Jackson’s Ravens’ are out here making power moves, locking in All-Pro left tackle Ronnie Stanley with a fresh $60 million deal. But while the suits are crunching numbers, Marlon Humphrey? He’s got a different kind of game on his mind—the NFLPA Classic golf tournament. Yep, you heard that right. One of the Ravens’ biggest stars is trading tackles for tee shots.

On Thursday, Humphrey took to his official ‘X’ handle and re-shared a post of the Chargers‘ Safety Tony Jefferson as he was prepping for the NFLPA Classic. “Not sure what our team name is but we will be victorious. Just believe..! #NFLPAClassic,” Humphrey wrote while re-sharing Jefferson’s post. See, Humphrey and Jefferson played together in the inaugural event of the NFLPA Classic for team Humphrey. The kicker?

When a fan asked the 28-year-old CB if the Ravens’ safety, Kyle Hamilton had made the cut for Team Humphrey at the NFLPA Classic, Humphrey didn’t hold back. The guy straight up confessed with a classic mix of humor and mock betrayal—Kyle has shut him down two years in a row. “Kyle actually hates me in the offseason and has rejected my invitation two years in a row now,” he replied to that user. Classic Kyle.

Let’s see what it is—set against the stunning backdrop of El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba in Riviera Maya, the NFLPA Classic is returning for its third year. And just like the last year, the NFL stars are gearing up to hit the greens for a two-day competition. Speaking of the last year, besides the Ravens‘ CB and Jefferson, team Humphrey included Marcus Jones and the Patriots and Simi Fehoko of the Cardinals. And who wasn’t on the team?

It’s Kyle Hamilton. Correction: Hamilton did get an invitation to join the team, but nope, the guy rejected it. Twice! The reason? Well, according to Humphrey, the guy hates him in the offseason—and we surely don’t know the reason. But one thing’s certain: with or without Hamilton, Humphrey is locked in and ready to chase that trophy this time. After coming up short the last couple of seasons, you know he’s itching to flip the script.

Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson’s Ravens are cooking in the free agency, and looks like they’re keen to take the next step in the postseason this time.

Lamar Jackson’s Ravens are the best after the free agency

Lamar Jackson had the best season of his career—again—but when it came to Super Bowl glory? Nope, not this time as well. The guy went off last season, throwing for a career-high 4,172 yards, stacking up 41 touchdowns, and almost hitting 1,000 rushing yards on top of that!

The Ravens even locked down the AFC North title. But then came the Divisional Round against the Bills, and boomMark Andrews dropped a clutch two-point conversion late in the game, and just like that, Baltimore was out.

With that being said, the Ravens are out there bolstering their roster in hopes of flipping the script this time. According to the PFF rankings, the Baltimore team ranks No. 1 in the free agency heading to the draft. And why not? They’ve already secured Ronnie Stanley with a fresh $60 million deal. Plus, to add depth in the WR corp, DeAndre Hopkins is here—at least for a year.

To make things even more interesting, Cooper Rush just landed in Baltimore as Jackson’s QB. That means one thing—the Ravens didn’t just retain talent to address their O-line issues, but also added key weapons to their arsenal. And their defense? Well, with Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton already in the mix, the team is surely looking to take the next step in the postseason this time.
