PCA’s Wholesome Surprise for Young Fans Pulls at MLB World’s Heartstrings: “The Cubs Have a Treasure”

5 min read

A ball tossed to a kid in the stands, a smile during warm-ups, or an autograph scribbled in the fading sun – every fan moment in MLB feels different. Recently, the Cubs star gave fans one of those unforgettable moments. One that didn’t just light up the ballpark, but set the whole town buzzing.

Imagine you are doing your daily chores in your lemonade kiosk, and suddenly you see your on-field hero in the queue. Your probable reaction was seen in the children who set up a lemonade table in Wrigleyville this weekend.

In Wrigleyville this weekend, there were kids holding a lemonade stand to raise $ so one of them could get their hair done like PCA (bleached with blue stars). Cubs PCA heard about it and showed up to meet the kids & give them enough $ to get the hairdo, Cubs reporter Taylor McGregor shared on her X handle.

According to McGregor, a group of kids were trying to raise enough cash to copy Pete Crow-Armstrong’s bold spring training hairstyle, bleached hair with blue stars. And when Crow-Armstrong heard about their mission, he decided to support their little Wrigleyville venture. The video shows how the kids were thrilled when he showed up, and instantly asked him to sign a paper towel and snap some photos with them.

In fact, later on, Taylor McGregor reported that one of those fans actually got that hairdo!

Now, social media is flooding with how Crow-Armstrong just became an off-field hero. While the on-field season is going strong for the rookie with 26 HRs and hitting .270, he couldn’t ask for a better outing than this.

Fans are left spellbound by the Cubs’ star’s antics

Felt like it touched just the right chords…

The Cubs have a treasure in this guy

There are a few times, once in a blue moon, that a generational talent lands with a team. Similar to what Crow-Armstrong is for the Cubs. And along with the on-field performance, if the guy could be the fans’ blue-eyed boy, then it’s second to none. “The Cubs have a treasure in this guy,” one fan shared the same emotion. A name that brings an electric energy to the team. Someone who plays with passion, swagger, and hustle should be termed a treasure. Someone who became the fastest player in Cubs history to reach 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases in a season surely deserves the tag.

Going by the current pace of PCA, he is surely in the 2025 MVP race. And now, his off-field antics are also making a point. “MVPete is a great guy off the field, too.” PCA is going in the same direction as Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, offering both on and off the field antics. With a .270 batting average, a .306 on-base percentage, and a .556 slugging mark this season, PCA is in the MVP race. Now, fans hope his off-field gestures deserve an MVP-level applause, too.

Imagine how the children were left in a state of shock by PCA. Putting up a lemonade stand to make the hairstyle of their hero, and the hero himself arrives. “How cool is that? They will remember that for life.” Yep, the Cubs’ slugger just offered a lifetime memory for the kids. They will remember how their first PCA-like hairstyle was sponsored by the man himself.

Tbh, a player can’t have a devoted fan base just by throwing fireballs and hitting towering homers. They need to share a positive relationship with fans, too. One thinks, “He just made devoted fans for life. This is great stuff.” Hopefully, PCA just got a bunch of followers who will be his fans all their lives, despite he stays with the Cubs or not. Superstars are born this way…

Well, with great power comes greater responsibility. And a rookie entering the first stage of stardom should be more careful. “He’s the face of a franchise now. A role model to the youth. Thousands of kids will aspire to be him and be inspired by him. Please stop throwing your bats and helmet, though.” Surely, the Cubs slugger is getting all the attention, and the young generation has started to idolize him. However, one fan suggested PCA to control his emotions, as well. Because PCA has shown flashes of fiery competitiveness, and some emotional moments, like throwing bats or helmets after frustrating at-bats. But with time, we can expect to see a more mature PCA in the future.

No matter what, the Cubs surely got a star of tomorrow with PCA. Someone who can carry his stardom both on and off the field. His latest off-field antics just proved how he is ready for the big days ahead.
