Love might mean zero on the scoreboard, but off the court, tennis is brimming with heart. From Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina to Alex De Minaur and Katie Boulter, the sport has its fair share of power couples. But few duos have captured the spotlight quite like Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa—better known as Tsitsidosa. Their romance has seen its fair share of highs, lows, and plot twists. First made official in 2023, then briefly called off in May 2024, and patched up within weeks, they are strong as ever. And Badosa’s new revelation is proving just that!

It all started at the 2023 Italian Open in Rome. In classic rom-com style, it began with a bet. Tsitsipas made a deal with himself that he’d message Badosa if she won her second-round match. Spoiler alert: She did. “I made a bet with myself. I said ‘I’ll send Badosa a message if she wins her second round match in Rome’ and she was playing very well, so I thought ‘Hey I have a good chance of achieving that today,’” Tsitsipas said (via People). That one “Congratulations” DM turned into something more.

Since then, it’s been back to regular programming, featuring flirty social media posts, heart emojis, and language lessons. Speaking of which, Badosa is already embracing Greek culture in the most entertaining way. During a Q&A on her Instagram, a fan asked her favorite Greek food. She didn’t pick moussaka or souvlaki—instead, she posted a selfie with Tsitsipas and wrote, “All greek food and greek men are the best .”

And she’s not just enjoying the food, she’s also cooking up tasty dishes. In an interview, the Greek  shared, “I enjoy cooking. I have a lovely girlfriend that started cooking for me. I’m having a great time cooking and chatting at the same time.” Cute, right?

That’s not the first time she’s shown her love for all things Greek. When their relationship had just started, the Spaniard was caught trying to learn the Greek word “agapi,” which means love. She was on a flight, practicing the pronunciation.

Turns out, it’s a two-way street. At the 2024 Western and Southern Open, he revealed, “I asked for the Mutua Madrid Open to hire a tutor for me. I love Spanish, the Spanish language, a lot…I’m really fascinated when it comes to accents.” There’s just one problem—his girlfriend may not be much help. “Paula speaks only Catalan around me, so it’s been difficult. It’s her native language.” Learning Spanish when your girlfriend’s speaking Catalan? Yeah, that’s a challenge.

Still, it’s clear they support each other. Especially during the hard times.

Paula Badosa reveals Stefanos Tsitsipas was her “light” in difficult days

From being ranked World No. 2 in May 2022 to falling outside the top 100 in 2024, it’s been quite tough for Paula Badosa.

A serious back injury in June 2023 kept her away from the game for months. In a joint interview with Hola, she opened up about how Tsitsipas helped her through it. The Spaniard said, “I met Stef right after my injury. It was one of the hardest seasons for me because I have never spent so many months without playing tennis. And he brought me the happiness, support, and fresh air that I needed so much at that time. I felt very happy to have light in my life during such a dark time.”

Things got so tough that Badosa even considered retirement. But Tsitsipas stood by her side, constantly encouraging her to keep going. His support may have been one of the reasons she stayed in the game. And now, she’s clawed her way back to No.11 in the rankings.

But the injury struggles aren’t over. Recently, she pulled out of the Charleston Open due to another back issue. Still, she’s eyeing a return at the Madrid Open, starting April 22—right at home.

The ups and downs haven’t dimmed the glow of Tsitsidosa. From language fumbles to love declarations and injury comebacks, they’re still standing strong. Who’s your favourite tennis power couple? Let us know in the comments below!
