We all know Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, the tennis power couple whose on-again, off-again romance has kept fans buzzing. But before the whirlwind of breakups and makeups, there was a first glance. Tsitsipas, in a past interview, confessed it was “love at first sight” when he spotted Badosa at the Australian Open in 2020. He was, he said, “completely mesmerized.” But what about Paula? What was her first impression?

Just before her Miami Open match, Paula Badosa revealed her first impression of Stefanos Tsitsipas. In a video shared by ‘Overtime Tennis,’ she described him as “very cute, attractive.” After that, she went on to add, “That was my first impression. Then when I got to know him, I saw amazing other stuff. But yeah, the first one was that for sure.

From a high of No. 2 in May 2022, Paula Badosa’s career took a sharp downturn, with her ranking falling outside the top 100 in 2024 after a serious back injury in June 2023. In a joint interview with the Spanish magazine Hola, Badosa spoke about how Tsitsipas brought “light” into her world during that time.

I met Stef right after my injury. It was one of the hardest seasons for me because I have never spent so many months without playing tennis. And he brought me the happiness, support, and fresh air that I needed so much at that time. I felt very happy to have light in my life during such a dark time.”

Even there was a time when Paul Badosa thought of retiring from the sport due to her ongoing battle with injuries. However, Tsitsipas was the one who kept her motivated and never let her give up on her dreams. And just like Badosa, Tsitsipas is thankful to have Badosa in his life!

In an interview with Tennis Tonic, the Greek tennis player said, “She has brought a lot of blessings into my life and I am proud that I can call her my girlfriend and my life partner.” In one instance, he even said, “I love everything about her. The way she plays, the way she carries herself on the court, her personality. Everything was perfect. She was the perfect woman to have by my side.”

Both these players have had some memorable moments this season, already, and guess what? The power couple didn’t fail to highlight their supportive side towards each other.

Paula Badosa congratulates Stefanos Tsitsipas after his success in Dubai

The 2024 season didn’t go according to the plans for the Greek. Stefanos Tsitsipas failed to reach any final on the hard courts in the previous season. He made an early exit from the US Open and the Canadian Open as well. As a result of his poor performances, he finished the season outside the Top 10 for the first time since 2018. Big shout out to him. He’s going through tough moments – but he’s a champion and he will always be a champion,” Badosa praised Tsitsipas.

Fast forward seven months, Stefanos Tsitsipas defeats Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime by 6-3,6-3 to win the Dubai Tennis Championships. Well, Badosa shared a picture of Tsitsipas lifting the trophy and captioned that image with, “Once a champ, always a champ.”

Even Badosa didn’t have a great start to her season last year, but she came back strongly in the later phase. This year, she even reached the SF of the AO. Highlighting her impressive run in Melbourne, Tsitsipas said, “Her success gives me a lot of motivation. It was really impressive and deserved.”

Both these players are now among the Top 10 seeds in Miami this week and they were spotted having a fun time during their stay in the ‘Magic City.’ Can ‘Tsitsidosa’ create some magical moments at the 2025 Miami Open? Share your thoughts in the comment box.
