Panthers Coach Reveals Brad Marchand’s Debut Possibilities as Hockey Star Returns to Bruins’ Home

Brad Marchand is back in Boston. Well, sort of.

The former Boston Bruins star suffered an upper-body injury following an awkward collision with Pittsburgh Penguins’ P.O. Joseph on March 1. He was placed on week-to-week since then. So even though he has traveled to Boston with the Florida Panthers for their final regular season game against the Bruins, an on-ice reunion with his former teammates was not possible. Ahead of the dramatic game, however, Panthers HC took time out to share his thoughts on when Marchand could possibly make his debut.

“I don’t think anything is necessarily changed in the original diagnosis,” the Panthers head coach said and revealed in a presser. “We’re hopeful to get him back toward the end of the regular season. That was the hope,” he added.

The coach further added, “I think that was kind of the idea. Wanted to get on the ice and move some pucks around just to see where he was at, so that was a positive. He stayed through it. I mean, that’s an 11-minute morning skate. So, it wouldn’t be too heavy. I don’t think that that necessarily puts him ahead of his injury rehab, but it puts him back on the ice, which is the positive part for legs and conditioning and all those other things. So, he’s going to be able to do some things on the ice.”

Stay tuned, this is a developing story!
