Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian is a true ‘girl dad’. He has always shared his feelings on how blessed he is to have two little angels. Remember how he unleashed his emotions last year while holding Adira and Olympia in his arms? “Fellow men: I pray that you all get to feel this kind of love.” The former Reddit co-founder has time and again reiterated how hard it is for him to leave the girls when he has to go on his business trips. The “goodbye” hug feels painful even though he knows he will be back. That’s how much he adores his fatherhood and the young ladies who have given him this gift. Well, who wouldn’t? But what if Alexis were a ‘boy dad’ instead? What would his experience have been like? He just made his stance clear while sharing a candid moment with Olympia.
So Ohanian shared a post on his Instagram, hours ago, where Olympia was by his side. The moment he began recording, she asked, “Are you on video?” But what was it about, though? Ohanian had a special thought to share. He began, “Someone asked me what are some of your favorite parts about being a girl dad,” To this, Olympia replied with the obvious: “It’s fun.” The father couldn’t agree more. “It’s the best! It is amazing because I get to see how the world is like through the eyes of little girls. It’s full of craziness and keeps me busy and active. My girls are so kind to me. They’ve always been so nice to me,” he continued as the video showed snippets of his moments with Olympia.
But what about having boys? Well, Williams’ husband has his reservations. “If I had boys, maybe they would be too, but I don’t know, possibly [not] be as sweet as my little girls are,” he said. At this exact moment, Olympia interrupted in the background, saying, “No way”. “So I love being a girl dad, and it gives me more empathy.” And guess what? He thinks it makes him a better businessman, too. After all, it’s not the easiest to negotiate a no s’mores situation when that’s all that Olympia wants.
First, he tried offering her some more pineapple, to which she promptly replied, “No”. He then asked, “About some water?” The 7-year-old was not convinced (as if that was ever going to work). However, finally, when they settled on ice cream, Ohanian made sure to set conditions—Olympia could have “the littlest scoop” and that too in a cup instead of a cone. Whether Olympia actually honored the deal was left to the imagination. And even if she didn’t, would her father really be cross with her? After all, he indulged in a treat of his own not too long ago.
When Serena Williams’ husband felt like the “luckiest guy in the world”
For a long time now, Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis has been practicing the art of making pancakes at home. In fact, he’s tried a lot of shapes and designs by now during his ‘Papa Pancakes’ weekends for Olympia and Adira. In fact, last year he even shared one of the most important objectives behind the pancake tradition.
“When Olympia was little and couldn’t really speak, I’d make alphabet letters in the pancakes for every letter in her name. I can’t take all the credit for her learning to read, but pancakes definitely played a part,” Serena Williams’ husband said.
However, it seems the little girls have also learned to make delicious treats. Just a day ago, Ohanian shared a post on Instagram featuring a picture. There was a partly eaten pancake alongside a note. “I’m the luckiest guy in the world,” read the caption. And the message inside the notes explained why.
The first one read, “For you. I made myself. I hope you like it!. I miss you and I love you, Olympia, Di Di.” Undoubtedly, father Alexis couldn’t resist expressing his immense joy. In the comments, he simply wrote, “I started eating the pie she made me before the photo, so I quickly wrapped it.” Can it get any more adorable than this?
