Things might be a bit slow for Racing Louisville on the pitch, but off it, they certainly know how to make big moves. In the latest development, the NWSL club has officially named Caitlyn Flores Milby as their new general manager, after she previously held the same position with the ‘interim‘ tag.
The word around the town was spread by the Lavenders on Wednesday. Having signed a contract until 2026, with an option to extend it to 2027, the news was further teased with an Instagram post featuring Milby holding the club’s scarf. “We’re excited to remove the interim tag and welcome Caitlyn Flores Milby as our General Manager ,” the statement read, celebrating an employee who has been part of the team since 2017 and officially began working with the first team in 2022.
Likewise, another Instagram post shared by Louisville featured Caitlyn Flores Milby expressing her thoughts on securing this significant role at the club. “Ever since I joined this organization eight years ago, it’s been my goal to make professional soccer successful in Louisville,” she began.
“If that meant setting up on-field signage at Louisville Slugger Field on game day, selling merchandise, bringing thousands of people to our state-of-the-art facilities through our recreational leagues, or ensuring Racing Louisvilles players received the support they needed, I’ve been willing to do it. Now, I’m striving to give this city and fanbase the winning team they deserve.”
(This is a developing story…)
