Standing tall with an undefeated 16-0 record (2 KOs), Claressa Shields steps into the ring with two things in mind: a decisive win and the spotlight. As a five-division world champion, her resume speaks for itself, and she wears her accolades like a badge of honor. Yet, despite her dominance, the organizers placed her on an undercard, feeling like a slap in her face. A fighter of her caliber playing second fiddle? That’s a bitter pill to swallow—and one she refuses to accept.
Just last month, Shields steamrolled Danielle Perkins to claim the IBF World Heavyweight title, all while holding onto her WBC, WBF, and WBO belts. Talks of her next fight are already brewing. But here’s the real punch to the gut—she’s been slated as the undercard for Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor. So, what’s the story behind this snub? Let’s break it down.
Claressa Shields isn’t here for the clown act
Yesterday, Shadasia Green threw down the gauntlet, calling out the self-proclaimed “GWOAT” for a fight. Taking to X, she wrote: “Funny thing my team never heard from you or your manager? Well, we have this event in NY, live on Netlfix. Let me know if you are about it or just talk?
Green didn’t just stop there, she said, “I can ask Amanda & Nakisa to bless you with the opportunity to make real money and fight me @Claressashields.” The 35-year-old was referring to the highly anticipated Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor trilogy fight, set for July 11th at Madison Square Garden.
With all of Taylor’s IBF, IBO, WBC, and WBO World Super Lightweight titles on the line, the event promises to be a blockbuster. Seeing an opportunity to secure a high-profile bout, Green aimed to put herself in the mix against the undefeated heavyweight champion. But did she seal the deal? A massive no.
Claressa Shields isn’t one to simply take jabs, she fights back. Mere hours after Green’s post, Shields clapped back with a brutal response: “Let’s be Clear Shadasia! You ain’t never made no real money ever ! You should fight @TheHHDiva on that card! I’m a main event headliner! Something you know nothing about! Move around clown .”

The Michigan native claimed Green had never made “real money,” but that’s not entirely true. Since turning pro in 2019, Green fought some of the toughest opponents in the division. In 2024, she even captured the WBO World Super Middleweight title with a win over Melinda Watpool.
Still, Shields wasn’t wrong in suggesting that the 15-1, 11 KO should focus on unfinished business. She could start with the woman who handed her the first loss of her career. Back in December 2023, Franchón Crews-Dezurn outboxed Green to claim the WBC World Super Middleweight title. While Green has since bounced back with two wins in July and November, Crews-Dezurn hasn’t stepped into the ring since. A rematch would be the perfect way for Green to reassert her dominance.

And if you thought Shields was done, think again. Not only did she shut down Green’s challenge with a few choice words, but she also took a direct shot at Nakisa Bidarian’s fighters, making it clear—she’s calling the shots, not them.
Claressa Shields claps back at a bold claim
Jake Paul has made a bold promise ahead of Amanda Serrano’s highly anticipated July 11 trilogy fight against Katie Taylor—stating that Serrano will become “the highest-paid woman in sports history for a single event.” According to the El Gallo owner, the previous record was held by former UFC and WWE star Ronda Rousey, who pocketed just under $5 million for her fight against Amanda Nunes in 2016.
Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions represents Serrano under a lifetime deal, and this all-female card is a huge milestone—not just for Serrano, but for women’s boxing as a whole. However, some remained unimpressed. The self-proclaimed GWOAT, had some choice words for her Puerto Rican counterpart.
“I only talk to undefeated fighters! If you’re not undefeated, please don’t talk to me! I’m bout to call Mayweather ,”

Shields, of course, remains undefeated at 16-0, while Serrano holds a 47-3 record, with two of those losses coming at the hands of Taylor. But while Shields continues to flaunt her unblemished record, she has her own battles to fight first. Following her February 2, 2025, the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission hit her with a suspension after she tested positive for marijuana in an oral sample. Shields claims she did not ingest marijuana. She blames exposure to second-hand smoke at the venue, but the damage is done.
The real question is, once her suspension is lifted, will she finally agree to a blockbuster fight with real money on the line? And if so, who should Claressa Shields face next? Do share your thoughts with us below.
