No Love Lost Between Jack Della Maddalena & Joe Rogan as UFC Commentator Refuses to Call UFC 315 Fights

“F-ck you! I’m done with Canada… I just don’t trust any of it up there… the sh-t that they’re doing, the erosion of people’s rights. Like, I don’t want to support it. I think it’s f–king horrible.” UFC color commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan stated last year while being concerned about the political climate in Canada. According to the podcaster, Canada is in a “full-blown communist takeover.” Owing to this, he even aimed at then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, criticizing his actions that he believes are undermining people’s rights and free speech.

Moreover, Rogan vowed never to return to Canada until the country “gets rid of” Trudeau. The podcaster’s issues with the political landscape caused his absence from UFC 297 which was held at the Ontario Arena last year. Meanwhile, chants of “f–k Trudeau” echoed throughout the Scotiabank Arena during the event. Meanwhile, Trudeau resigned earlier this year, ending his controversial 9-year term as Prime Minister amid growing “internal tensions” within his party.

On top of this, the UFC Express also prepares to return to Montreal after a decade-long hiatus with UFC 315 this May. Despite this, Joe Rogan has made it clear that he’s not ready to return to the nation for his usual commentary gig. During his UFC London fight companion podcast last week, Rogan confirmed, “I don’t go to Canada anymore.” Instead, he stated that he would choose to go to Russia if the UFC ever organized an event there.

As UFC 315 approaches, welterweight title challenger Jack Della Maddalena, who is set to face reigning champion Belal Muhammad, was recently asked about Rogan’s absence from the event. Speaking to ‘Main Event’ on social media, ‘JDM’ said, “I mean, yeah, I don’t know. Joe [Rogan], I think he just stays in the US pretty strongly, but that’s all right. That’s all right. It doesn’t matter. They were having some good commentators there, but yeah, as long as the team there, I’ll be happy.”

Although Trudeau is no longer the prime minister of Canada, Joe Rogan’s concerns about the country’s leadership persist. The podcaster has made it clear that he doesn’t agree with Canadian laws and has expressed discomfort with the political climate. Recently, Canada found itself in the spotlight after American President Donald Trump joked about annexing Canada and turning it into the 51st state, sparking a lively debate among Canadians. While Trudeau acknowledged the comment, Rogan holds a different perspective on the matter. Let’s hear what the UFC commentator himself has to say.

Joe Rogan on Donald Trump’s plan to absorb Canada into America

Since Donald Trump became the U.S. President again in November of the previous year, his “Make America Great Again” agenda has been at the forefront of his policies from the very beginning. However, his approach has sparked considerable controversy, particularly in countries like India and Canada. One such policy, the imposition of a 25% tariff on auto imports to stimulate domestic manufacturing, was perceived by many as a “direct attack” on other nations.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, along with former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, did not shy away from expressing concern about Trump’s actions. During the Canada-U.S. Economic Summit in Toronto, Trudeau, speaking behind closed doors, said, “Mr. Trump has it in his mind that the easiest way to do it is by absorbing our country, and it’s a real thing.” This comment, inadvertently captured by a microphone, quickly made headlines, leading to speculation about whether Trump truly aims to merge the Canadian and U.S. economies.

In contrast, Joe Rogan, who has close personal ties to Trump, dismissed these speculations during a conversation with Gordon Ryan and Brendan Schaub on the UFC London Fight Companion podcast. The podcaster responded, “That’s never gonna happen. That’s so crazy to ask them to be the 51st state. I had a conversation with Trump about it. He goes, ‘I started calling him Gov. Trudeau just for fun, and a lot of people are saying it’s a good idea.’ Like, maybe it is a good idea.”

What do you think about Joe Rogan skipping UFC 315 in Canada? Do you believe his absence will impact the business side of things for Dana White & Co. during the event? Feel free to share your thoughts below.
